Ukraine is ready to share its experience countering Iranian-designed Shahed drones with partners in the Middle East, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy said, as the United States and Gulf countries explore the use of Ukrainian interceptor drones to defend against mass UAV attacks. “We received signals from partners in the Middle East. There have been strikes by Iranian ‘Shaheds’ on civilians in those countries. They are seeking our expertise,” Zelenskyy said on X. “We are open. If their representatives come, we will provide the expertise.” Ukraine’s drone war experience draws global interest Ukraine has developed a range of low-cost interceptor drones after years of defending its…
Italian Prime Minister Giorgia Meloni said Rome intends to provide air defense assistance to Gulf states facing Iranian strikes, aligning Italy with similar efforts by several European partners. “Italy, like the United Kingdom, France and Germany, intends to provide assistance to the Gulf countries,” Meloni said in an interview with Italian radio station RTL 102.5. “It is clearly a question of air defense, not only because they are friendly nations, but also because tens of thousands of Italians are stationed in the region and around 2,000 Italian soldiers must be protected. The Gulf is also vital for the energy supply of Italy and Europe.” Italy…
Malaysia Airlines has taken delivery of its 10th Airbus A330neo, with the aircraft touching down in Kuala Lumpur after being flown home from Toulouse by a crew of four pilots, supported by the airline’s engineering team. The delivery marks the first of the year and brings the Malaysian flag carrier another step closer to its goal of operating one of the youngest widebody fleets serving Australasia by the end of the first quarter of 2026. The airline said it plans to deploy the growing A330neo fleet on key long-haul routes including Melbourne, Sydney, Auckland, Tokyo, and Bali. The tenth aircraft…
While airlines are doing everything they can to squeeze more seats onto planes in economy, in many cases airlines are increasingly allocating more space to first and business class. For the most part, this comes in the form of more comfortable and spacious seats, though around a handful of airlines take it a step further by offering special onboard amenities, like inflight bars and lounges. After all, when you’re on an ultra long haul flight, there’s something really nice about being able to stretch your legs, and possibly even mingling with some of your fellow passengers. In fairness, in many…

As we all know, at times it can be challenging to find award availability, especially for travel in first and business class. Many people assume that airlines will always open some award seats as soon as the schedule first opens, but that’s not the case at most airlines. However, there are a few(ish) airlines that have award seat guarantees, whereby they promise that a certain number of award seats will be made available as soon as the schedule opens. In this post, I’d like to go over the airlines offering that, and talk about what the guarantee entails. The airlines…
Over the years, we’ve seen quite a bit of innovation when it comes to the credit card airport lounge landscape. While Amex Centurion Lounges were the first, arguably we’ve seen Capital One Lounges and Chase Sapphire Lounges raise the bar in recent years. With that in mind, in July 2025, Amex made an interesting announcement about plans to introduce a new lounge concept, for those who are short on time. There’s now a major update, as the first of these lounges has just opened. Amex’s new lounge concept for those in a rushAmex has just introduced a new lounge concept,…
For the next hotel stay of my Iceland to The Residence via Cambodia trip, I spent one night at the 204-key Singapore EDITION. Okay, I’ve gotta be honest, I’m not the biggest fan of the EDITION brand, and this also didn’t even rank among my favorite properties in the EDITION portfolio. So, why would I book this in the first place? Well, I had an Amex Platinum hotel credit to use, and I was one night short of requalifying for Marriott Bonvoy Ambassador status, so this seemed like the best option that allowed me to use the credit and get an elite…
Over the past several weeks, Lufthansa has been introducing a special fleet of planes in a 100th anniversary livery. While the first of these planes entered service several weeks ago, I’m very impressed by how quickly five planes have been repainted. I’ve gotta hand it to Lufthansa, this is one of the coolest special liveries we’ve ever seen. Not only that, but the livery looks particularly amazing on the 747, if you ask me, and that might just be my favorite “special” plane ever. Lufthansa highlights crane with 100th anniversary livery Lufthansa is celebrating its 100th anniversary this year (in…
