Ethiopian Airlines isn’t exactly known for the consistency of its business class hard product. On its wide body aircraft, the airline already has five different business class seats, with a sixth new seat coming soon (to 787s). Well, you can now add yet another new seat to the fleet, along with a new 737 business class seat. While the airline doesn’t score any points for consistency, at least it’s continuously elevating its product, so I suppose that’s good? British Airways will fly from London Heathrow to Guernsey. It last did so 45 years ago, in 1980. The airport pair has seen various other carriers over the years, including Air UK in the 1980s/1990s and Flybe, which operated for 12 months until March 2020. Elsewhere, BA CityFlyer also flew from London Gatwick to Guernsey until 2003. Of course, Aurigny already serves Guernsey to Gatwick and London City, although the latter route is at risk from BA’s entry. According to the BBC, Flybe received £825,000 in subsidies to temporarily serve Heathrow. The rationale was to add connectivity to/from the UK’s…
Etihad Airways captured the headlines on the second day of the Dubai Airshow 2025 when it announced it was ordering dozens of widebody Airbus aircraft, some directly from the European aircraft manufacturer, and others via leasing firm Avolon. In addition to an incremental order for six A350-1000 aircraft and three A350 freighters, the airline’s order for 15 A330neo aircraft drew particular attention. The order will see the return of the A330 to Etihad’s fleet, albeit in its latest and most modern version, the A330-900neo. The Abu Dhabi carrier had previously operated the type in its legacy versions, the A330-200 and the A330-300, until 2021. The A330neos will add diversity to a fleet which has also seen the recent arrival of the first A321LR aircraft, one of which was exhibited by Etihad at the Dubai Airshow’s static display. During the Dubai Airshow 2025, AeroTime was able to meet with Etihad’s Chief Operations and Guests Officer (COO), Capt. Majed Al Marzouqi to learn more…
