Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has successfully completed the first intercontinental flight with its Airbus A350 in Wanderlust livery, traveling from Zurich, Switzerland, to Boston, United States.

The flight, operating as LX52, was the airline’s inaugural long-haul service using the new Airbus A350, and this marks the start of regular scheduled operations, the carrier announced in a statement.

According to data from FlightRadar24, the flight covered a distance of 6,027 kilometers and took about eight hours. The aircraft, registered as HB-IFA, arrived in Boston at 18:37 local time on November 20, 2025, with no reported delay.

An official ceremony was held before departure to celebrate the flight, attended by Jens Fehlinger, SWISS CEO, and Heike Birlenbach, SWISS CCO.

“Our new Airbus A350 marks the next step in our development, in technological, commercial and guest experience terms,” said Fehlinger. “It’s quieter, more efficient and more comfortable than any other aircraft we have operated to date.”

SWISS noted that, with the launch of this new Zurich-Boston Airbus A350 service, passengers will now be able to enjoy the ‘SWISS Senses’ cabin for the first time, along with enhanced long-haul inflight services.

The ‘Senses’ cabin experience includes welcome drinks, refined meals, signature cocktails, upgraded Business Class bedding, premium amenities, and modern inflight entertainment.

SWISS’s first Airbus A350 will also be used for short-haul flights over the coming weeks. According to the airline, Montreal will be the second long-haul destination for the new SWISS A350.

The carrier operated the inaugural passenger flight of its new Airbus A350 on October 25, 2025, flying from Zurich to Palma de Mallorca.
