Passengers onboard a Delta Air Lines flight between Shanghai and Detroit ended up in Japan after the Airbus A350-900 operating the flight encountered a hydraulic issue. The captain, out of an abundance of caution, declared an emergency landing and closed the runway at Tokyo Haneda Airport (HND) for some time after its arrival. An Emirates A380 was struck by a fuel truck at Manchester Airport on Friday, damaging one of its engine cowlings. The incident forced Emirates to cancel its scheduled return flight to Dubai, and the aircraft involved was grounded in Manchester for more than two days after the incident. Images of the aircraft shared on social media show a hole in the lip section of an engine cowling. Airbus is investigating a newly identified industrial quality issue affecting fuselage panels on several dozen A320-family aircraft, according to industry sources briefed on the matter.  The suspected production flaw, disclosed to Reuters by people familiar with the issue, has begun to delay some near-term deliveries, though there is currently no indication the problem has reached aircraft already in service.
