Aerolíneas Argentinas has released plans to acquire four Airbus A330neo and 14 Boeing 737 MAX aircraft along with details to upgrade cabin interiors and introduce Wi-Fi across its fleet.
On November 28, 2025, Aerolíneas Argentinas said that its goal was to “modernize the fleet, improve the passenger travel experience, and consolidate its profitability and market positioning strategy in both the domestic and international markets”.
The airline described the new Airbus A330neos as the “key asset” of its plan and a “natural step” after already operating a fleet of A330ceo aircraft.
“The transition to these aircraft is a natural step in the evolution of this segment, as they share much of their spare parts platform, simulators, and technical training with the A330ceo,” said a spokesperson for the airline.
Aerolíneas Argentinas’ plans to acquire 14 Boeing 737 MAXs including two MAX 8s, four MAX 9s, and eight MAX 10s. The airline stated that the MAX8s will be joining its fleet in the “coming days”.

“The MAX family of aircraft has demonstrated outstanding performance both globally and within the Aerolíneas Argentinas fleet, which already has 15 MAX 8s. The new MAX 9 and MAX 10 models will increase profitability on high-demand routes within the country and to destinations in the region,” added the spokesperson.
Both the Airbus and Boeing aircraft will enter service with Aerolíneas under an operating lease and will be part of the company’s first self-financed investment plan.
Earlier this year, the airline announced that 2025 will be the first time it will not receive any funding from the Argentina’s National Treasury, describing it as “an unprecedented milestone since the state regained control of the company’s shares”.
“Between 2008 and 2023, the company accumulated losses averaging USD 400 million annually, a situation reversed in 2024 with its first positive operating result (EBIT) of USD 56.6 million, confirmed in the financial statements audited by the consulting firm KPMG. This result is projected to double by 2025,” the airline said.
Cabin upgrades and Wi-Fi
Additionally, Aerolíneas Argentinas announced it would upgrade the cabin interiors of its A330ceo aircraft that the company is already operating.
“The complete plan will culminate in a more modern and efficient fleet, with more comfort for passengers and an improvement in the company’s profitability,” said the airline spokesperson.
The carrier will also install Wi-Fi connectivity across the entire fleet with the A330s first to be upgraded.
This will then be extended to the airlines’ Boeing 737s and Embraer 190s. The service is scheduled to begin in 2027.
“With this milestone, Aerolíneas Argentinas confirms its transformation into a company with the capacity for investment and growth using its own resources. We will increase our total seat capacity and consolidate a modern, efficient, and highly profitable fleet, offering an attractive product for passengers who already recognize our company’s superior service quality in the region,” said Fabián Lombardo, President and CEO of Aerolíneas Argentinas.
He added: “This plan represents a capitalization of the company through securing orders for the 18 aircraft, an action that will strengthen our position in both the local and international markets.”
Including the two new Boeing MAX 8s, Aerolíneas Argentinas has a fleet of 83 aircraft, consisting of 10 Airbus A330-200ceos, 15 Boeing 737 MAX 8s, 28 Boeing 737-800s, four Boeing 737-700s, 24 Embraer E190s, and two Boeing 737-800 freighters.
