An Air India Express captain has been accused of physically assaulting a man who was traveling with his family, after the two got into a disagreement at the airport security line. This is simply wild. Delhi Airport security line disagreement gets physical On Friday, December 19, 2025, a man named Ankit Dewan took to X to share the awful situation that unfolded while he went through security at Terminal 1 at Delhi International Airport. According to his version of events (and I’m copying and pasting here): “Me & my family were guided to use the security check that the staff…
London Heathrow Airport (LHR) is the busiest air hub in the whole of the United Kingdom, with hometown carriers British Airways and Virgin Atlantic naturally accounting for a great deal of the facility’s traffic. However, that isn’t to say that other airlines don’t also have a considerable presence in West London. Indeed, according to current scheduling data made available by Cirium, an aviation analytics company, three airlines have scheduled more than 1,000 flights each to and from London Heathrow Airport this December. Even when dipping below the 1,000-flight mark, there are plenty of foreign carriers operating multiple daily frequencies on…
US-based carrier American Airlines has announced a change to its Basic Economy fare bracket, wherein, as of earlier this week, passengers booking these tickets will soon be unable to accrue frequent flyer miles or points towards a higher loyalty status. However, the carrier has stated that no other changes have been made to the current offerings and amenities available for passengers flying in the basic fare bracket, and that the airline’s Elite status customers will still be eligible for perks when flying in this fare bracket. One of the great things about the “big three” global airline alliances is that they offer reciprocal lounge access for travelers. In this post, I want to take a closer look at the SkyTeam alliance’s lounge access policy, as understanding the nuances of airport lounge access can be complicated. We’ve seen some changes made to SkyTeam’s lounge access policies in recent times, which is why I think it’s worth recapping the rules. As a general rule of thumb, you can expect that you’ll get lounge access internationally with SkyTeam if you have SkyTeam Elite Plus status, or if you’re traveling in first…
The Bombardier Global 8000 has completed its certification process with the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), becoming the fastest civilian jet to receive FAA approval since the famous Concorde almost half a century ago. Bombardier’s new ultra-long-range business jet boasts a top speed of Mach 0.95 (729 mph) and officially entered service earlier this month following certification by Transport Canada in early November. It now awaits regulatory approval by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA), with the aircraft’s GE Passport 20 engine recently receiving EASA type certification. The Global 8000 is now the flagship aircraft in Bombardier’s impressive business jet…
A Qantas Boeing 737-800 aircraft departed from Canberra using take-off performance numbers based on an incorrect loadsheet. The input error in Qantas’ departure control systems resulted in 51 passengers being listed as not onboard, which produced a calculated weight that was approximately 9,460 lbs (4,291 kg) below the aircraft’s actual weight. source
Many travel loyalty programs offer the ability to earn lifetime elite status. Ordinarily elite status has to be earned on an annual basis, so it sure is nice to be able to not worry about requalifying for status anymore. In this post, I want to take a look at how Alaska Atmos Rewards lifetime status works. While Alaska isn’t as global as the “big three” US carriers, the airline is in the oneworld alliance, and has a compelling lifetime recognition program. Separately, I’ve written about lifetime elite status with American AAdvantage, Delta SkyMiles, and United MileagePlus. On the hotel front, I’ve also written…

Earlier this month, a Malta Air flight operating a Ryanair service experienced an in-flight engine shutdown due to a sun visor detaching and hitting engine levers onboard the flight deck. While this resulted in the flight crew declaring urgency to the control tower, the crew was able to restart the engine and continue their flight to the intended destination. There were no injuries reported onboard, and the aircraft landed at its destination 29 minutes behind schedule. Since the aircraft is registered within the state of Malta, the state has decided to open an investigation. Detached Sun Visor Shuts Down Engine…
