Authorities seized the rifle and 27 rounds of ammunition in the suspect’s pickup truck, which was parked outside…
Landing is typically considered the most challenging part of flying an airplane. Statistics show that over half of all civil aviation accidents occur during this phase of flight. Fortunately, there are systems to assist pilots with landings, such as glide slopes. The Basics of Glide Slopes Glide slopes are aircraft systems that provide vertical guidance. Pilots use them to achieve the correct angle during landings. Glide slopes essentially tell pilots whether the airplane is too high or low — or if it’s perfectly aligned with the ideal sloped path to the runway. How Glide Slopes Work Glides slopes use radio…

American Airlines (NYSE: AAL), Southwest Airlines (NYSE: LUV) and Alaska Airlines (NYSE: ALK) are set to report third-quarter earnings this week, with expectations set fairly low after a choppy summer for all three carriers. Wall Street analysts are currently expecting a fairly neutral performance from these three carriers, with demand remaining strong but pricing being relatively weak while cost shocks likely compressed margins. Investors have fairly modest expectations for American Airlines and Southwest Airlines, with Alaska Airlines being a bit more positively viewed except for its cost and fuel price-related challenges. What will likely move these stock prices is likely…
With the Airbus A380 and Boeing 747 programs terminated and there being a hiatus in Boeing 777 passenger jet deliveries, the Airbus A350 XWB is currently the widest passenger aircraft in production. But this is not set to last, as the Boeing 777X will be over a foot wider than the Airbus A350 when it (eventually) launches. The Boeing 777-9 will be wider and longer (251 feet 9 inches vs 242 feet and 1 inch) and will come with more powerful engines. Accordingly, it may come as a surprise to many that the Airbus A350-1000 is actually the higher-capacity aircraft…
