Drone software company Auterion has released new footage showing multiple first-person-view (FPV) quadcopters flying and attacking an inflatable tank decoy in a coordinated swarm demonstration.  The short video shared by Auterion’s CEO, Lorenz Meier, shows several drones converging on a single aim point in close succession, illustrating issues central to swarm operations, including combined flight, timing, and deconfliction.  Find. Fix. Finish. We have built at @auterion the swarm in the industry that scales across manufacturers and drone types to give warfighters the edge on the battlefield they deserve.#swarmsnotdrones pic.twitter.com/uG0LjyQk2A— Lorenz Meier (@drlorenzmeier) December 10, 2025 Auterion develops swarm-control capabilities under…

Fifth freedom routes are often intriguing. Imagine an airline operates A-B-C, where A is an airport in its own country. It will have fifth freedom traffic rights if it is permitted to carry passengers between airports B and C. It is distinct from a simple stop to refuel or change crew, as is undertaken by Ethiopian Airlines between Addis Ababa and North America, which would be the second freedom of the air. There are many fifth freedom markets. And in the past few days, two more have been revealed, both of which will deploy the Boeing 737. Oman Air will…

LUTEPÄÄ, Estonia — Across the snowy and muddy forests of eastern Estonia, NATO and Russia are locked in a staring match. It’s here, the frontier between a country with a population smaller than Vienna’s and the largest nuclear power in the world, that many analysts fear Russian President Vladimir Putin may one day be inclined to conduct a limited invasion into NATO.The mood at the border here is tense and silent. Stretching inland from the tall barbed-wire fence is a “border regime area” patrolled by special police units and dotted with guard towers. There are just a few villages in…

Many of commercial aviation’s most iconic aircraft, such as the Boeing 747 and the Airbus A380, are quadjets, but neither of these aircraft types is being produced any more. If you love the quadjet, it can be good to know where you can still find them and what the alternatives are. As the demise of quadjets continues, instead we see them being replaced by much more fuel-efficient twinjets with lower operating costs, like the Boeing 777, the Boeing 787, and the Airbus A350. Although quadjets are no longer in production, a number still remain in operation, mostly for either cargo…

Boeing delivered a total of 44 commercial jets in November, a reduction of nine aircraft from the previous month. The majority of deliveries by the US planemaker consisted of its single-aisle Boeing 737 MAX family, alongside six 787 Dreamliners and six freighters. This is significantly lower than deliveries completed by rival Airbus last month. Although downgrading its full-year delivery estimate for 2025, the European planemaker managed a total of 72 jet deliveries in November and remains on track to hit its yearly goal of almost 800 deliveries.
