All airlines adapt schedules and change where aircraft fly, and Air Canada is no exception. In the latest schedule update, the Star Alliance member has nearly fully removed the Airbus A321XLR from its brand-new route between Montreal and Palma de Mallorca. The Boeing 787-8 will primarily be used instead. The XLR will now only operate eight round-trip services in June, including the inaugural departure on June 17. The FAA has begun reviewing Boeing’s redesigned crew-alerting and angle-of-attack systems for the 737 MAX 10, marking the start of a formal evaluation process Congress mandated before Boeing can win certification of the long-delayed jet. The review also covers retrofits that must eventually be installed across the entire MAX family under post-crash safety reforms, the agency said. Air France has expanded the deployment of its Boeing 777-300ER aircraft equipped with the recently redesigned La Premiere first class cabin. The airline will now operate this configuration on three additional US destinations, including Atlanta (ATL), Boston (BOS), and Houston (IAH). PARIS — The Netherlands has ordered Skyranger anti-drone cannons from Germany’s Rheinmetall for less than €1 billion (US$1.2 billion), below the budget flagged to parliament in January.The Dutch will buy mobile versions of the Skyranger air-defense system as well as systems for stationary use, the Ministry of Defence said late Thursday.
