Textron Aviation Defense has begun a US tour to demonstrate the capabilities of the Beechcraft M-346N, one of four contenders for the US Navy’s upcoming Undergraduate Jet Training System (UJTS) program. The UJTS program aims to replace the Navy’s aging T-45 Goshawk trainer fleet, which has been in service for decades, with a modern alternative. United Airlines CEO Scott Kirby is once again making headlines for his blunt assessments of Spirit Airlines, saying this week that United will not pursue any of the bankrupt discount airline’s assets if they come up for sale. Two electric vertical takeoff and landing aircraft (eVTOLs) built by Xpeng Aeroht of China collided during a rehearsal for the Changchun Air Show in China on September 16, 2025, according to Chinese media reports. At least one person was hospitalized with what was described as non-life-threatening injuries. The cause of the incident is unknown, and Xpeng has not yet made an official statement. The midair collision is thought to be the first ever involving two eVTOL aircraft. Pilot salaries vary pretty widely in the United States, from around $50,000 per year to over $300,000 for highly qualified and experienced pilots. The highest pay is for the mainline carriers of the “big three:” American Airlines, United Airlines, and Delta Air Lines.
