OPEN FOR REGISTRATION About the event The aviation community is invited to the 2025 EASA-IATA Positioning, Navigation and Timing (PNT) Resilience Workshop, jointly hosted by the European Union Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in Cologne on May 22-23, 2025. The aim of this year event is to build on the conclusions of the previous workshop and to provide further insights on the growing challenges of Global Navigation Satellite System (GNSS) interference and its impact on aviation operations. As GNSS disruptions become increasingly frequent and complex, the aviation industry must move beyond reactive containment…
Flag carriers and fellow oneworld alliance members Malaysia Airlines and Qantas have announced a new codeshare partnership to enhance travel options across Australia, Malaysia, and beyond. Malaysia Airlines will add its ‘MH’ code to 18 domestic routes operated by Qantas in Australia, providing smoother onward connections to cities like Canberra, Darwin, Hobart, and Launceston. “Australia has long been a core part of our network, and our recent investments – including the deployment of the A330neo, increase in flight frequencies, and the resumption of services to Brisbane – reflect our commitment to meeting growing demand while enhancing our premium offering in…
For obvious reasons, scheduled passenger flights on Boeing 757s are decreasing fast. Due to retirements, 84% of the remaining services are within the United States. This is because Delta Air Lines still has 102 757s, while United Airlines has 61. Both airlines operate both the -200 and -300 variants. So what are the longest flights using this type? We take a look… source

Portugal has signed an amendment to its contract with Embraer, securing a sixth KC-390 Millennium transport aircraft and creating 10 new purchase options for potential acquisitions by allied nations. The Portuguese Air Force, which introduced the KC-390 in 2023, is now the first operator worldwide to expand its initial order. The deal formalizes an intention announced at the Paris Air Show in June 2025, when Lisbon revealed plans to add a sixth aircraft and open option slots for NATO partners. At the same time, Portuguese officials highlighted the role of Air Base No. 11 in Beja as…
Boeing ended production of its iconic 747 at the beginning of 2023. While this marked the end of a significant chapter in aviation history, the aircraft type continues to fly for many carriers around the world. Sadly, it was the pandemic that really impacted 747 fleets as commercial passenger airlines used the global health crisis as an opportunity to retire their aging jumbo jet fleets. But it’s late 2025 now and, according to aircraft data websites, there are still over 300 still active these days. Fewer and fewer of these quadjets are for passengers and are instead used to transport…
About this event The Runway Micro Texture (RWYMT) project has now completed all activities and deliverables and will be presented during this event. Furthermore, other regulators, aerodrome operators, and manufacturers will also share their perspectives during this event. Background According to the EASA Annual Safety Review 2024, runway excursions are one of the key safety risk areas for commercial air transport (CAT), business aviation, and non-commercial operations with complex motor-powered aircraft (NCC).Wet runways are a contributing factor to runway excursions. Good aeroplane tyre braking friction on wet runways is of essential importance for the safe stop of an aircraft. The…
