The UK and Turkey have signed a new support and training agreement tied to Ankara’s Eurofighter Typhoon purchase, moving the program beyond the initial export announcement and into the implementation phase. The agreement, announced on March 25, 2026, was signed in London by UK Defence Secretary John Healey and Turkish Defence Minister Yaşar Güler. According to the British government, it will cover pilot and technician training in the UK as well as long-term maintenance support for Turkey’s future Typhoon fleet. BAE Systems said separately that it had secured a £2.5 billion ($3.3 billion) contract to provide support and training services…
China Eastern Airlines has placed a $15.802 billion Airbus order for 101 A320neo family aircraft, comprised of A320neo, A321neo and A321XLR single aisle jets. On March 25, 2026, China Eastern Airlines confirmed details to the Shanghai Stock Exchange, where the carrier indicated that the price was based on Airbus’ January 2024 catalogue price. In a translation of the stock exchange filing, China Eastern Airlines said that the new aircraft would be delivered in batches from 2028 to 2032. The Chinese-owned carrier said that nine planes will be delivered in 2028, followed by 19 in 2029 and 30 in 2030. In…
Recently released photos show B-2 stealth bombers preparing to launch for a mission over Iran last week, with multiple unidentified white patches added along the leading edges of their wings. The U.S. Central Command has released new photos of the B-2A Spirit stealth bomber, one of the assets that, albeit constantly flying as part of Operation Epic Fury, has been rarely shown to the public since the start of the hostilities with Iran. The bombers are currently flying round-trip missions from the U.S., contrary to the B-1B Lancer and B-52H Stratofortress bombers that have also been forward-deployed to RAF Fairford…
Brazil has unveiled the first Gripen E fighter assembled on its own soil, a milestone for the Saab-Embraer program and a visible step forward in the country’s push to build advanced combat aircraft locally. Beond Airlines launched operations in 2023, and it brands itself as the world’s first premium leisure airline. The company is headquartered in Dubai, but primarily operates flights to and from the Maldives. I reviewed the airline in 2024, and the onboard product was super pleasant. A lot about the company seems questionable, and it’s hard to make sense of what’s going on at the airline. For example, in April 2025, the airline announced it would add 18 new destinations in 2025 and 2026, despite not having any more planes on order (at least as far as we know). Over six months later, the airline added a single new…

Lockheed Martin said it has signed a new framework agreement with the US Department of War to accelerate production of the Precision Strike Missile (PrSM), a move the company says will quadruple manufacturing capacity for the US Army’s next-generation long-range surface-to-surface missile. The announcement, made on March 25, 2026, builds on a March 2025 US Army contract worth up to $4.94 billion for additional PrSM production. The company did not disclose the future annual production rate in the release, but said the new agreement is intended to expand capacity and could eventually support a multiyear contract of up to seven years, subject to congressional authorization. Lockheed Martin said the…
The Philippines has become the first country to declare a national state of energy emergency amid escalating Middle East tensions, prompting its airlines to adjust operations while assuring passengers of continued service. Low-cost carrier Cebu Pacific has announced temporary route suspensions and frequency reductions across its international network in response to the crisis, citing fuel prices that have more than doubled compared to 2025 averages. The airline is suspending flights between Davao and Bangkok, Iloilo and Bangkok, Iloilo and Singapore, and Clark and Hanoi from April through October 2026. It is also scaling back frequencies on routes to Singapore, Jakarta,…
Hundreds of Transportation Security Administration (TSA) officers have resigned during a partial government shutdown that first started in February 2026. According to the Associated Press, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) which oversees TSA operations said that around 458 officers had quit since February 14, 2026. TSA employees have gone weeks without pay after DHS funding fell through in a dispute between Democrats and Republicans in Congress over immigration enforcement. Political wranglings between both sides continue in the hope of finding a solution to ensure TSA staff do not miss another paycheck. On March 23, 2026, just over 10% of…
This might just be the most entitled influencer I’ve ever seen, and that’s saying something… Influencer doubles down on violating airline rules Yesterday, I wrote about how an airline and travel content creator made a post about how Qatar Airways needs to do a better job providing good service to influencers, because on three of four flights, he was asked not to record the crew, while he and his wife (who is “the kindest person you’ll meet”) boarded with cameras, videoing the cabin and crew as they boarded. Virtually every airline has a policy against recording crew members without their…
