Wizz Air to launch new Turin base to serve Spanish and Italian destinations

Wizz Air continues apace with its capacity redeployment in Western Europe, with the announcement of a new base at Torino-Caselle Airport (TRN).

The pan-European ultra-low-cost airline will base two Airbus A321neo aircraft at the Piedmontese airport (the first one starting in September 2026, with the second one set to join a month later).

This new base, which will become its seventh in Italy after Rome Fiumicino, Milan Malpensa (MXP), Venice-Marco Polo (VCE), Catania (CTA), Naples (NAP) and Palermo (PMO), will have a clear focus on Spanish and Italian destinations.

From Torino, Wizz Air will fly 11 times per week to Rome Fiumicino (FCO), daily to Barcelona (BCN) and Naples (NAP), four times per week to Madrid (MAD) and Valencia (VLC) and three times a week to Malaga (AGP) and Bilbao (BIO).

The new services out of Torino to Barcelona, Bilbao and Rome will start on September 14, 2026, with the remaining routes being rolled out progressively through December.

Wizz Air has also a presence at Torino airport through the links it operates to some other of its European bases. These include Bucharest Otopeni (OTP) and Baneasa (BBU) airports and Iasi (IAS) in Romania, Budapest (BUD), Chisinau (RMO) in Moldova, Catania (CTA) in Sicily, Tirana (TIA), Albania and Sofia (SOF), Bulgaria. The low-cost carrier had also announced the launch of services to Torino from its bases at London Luton (LTN) and Palermo (PMO), as well as a seasonal service to Warsaw (WAW).

Italy is consolidating itself as a key market for Wizz Air, which has at least 36 aircraft based in the country.
