Wizz Air rolls out elevated seating across entire network after positive trial

Wizz Air is rolling out premium seating across its entire network following a successful trial at six bases that proved to be a winner with passengers, especially with business travelers.

In January 2026, Wizz Air introduced ‘Wizz Class’ on selected flights to and from Budapest, Bucharest, Warsaw, London-Luton (LTN), London-Gatwick (LGW) and Rome.

Through the elevated product, passengers benefited from additional legroom and a reserved empty middle seat in the aircraft’s first row.

In addition to the reserved middle seat, Wizz Class customers also receive a complimentary non-alcoholic drink and snack.

On February 9, 2026, Wizz Air announced that from today a full roll out of Wizz Class would begin, bringing the service to routes where it has not yet been offered.

“After testing WIZZ Class at six of our bases and receiving overwhelmingly positive feedback, it became clear that passengers – especially business travelers – value the extra comfort and space this service provides,” said Silvia Mosquera, Commercial Officer at Wizz Air.

She added: “Even with the limited initial rollout, demand exceeded our expectations. That’s why we’re now extending WIZZ Class across the network, giving more customers access to additional room and convenience while staying true to our efficient single‑class model.”

Wizz Air first unveiled plans for Wizz Class in October 2025 at a press conference in London attended by AeroTime.

Chief Commercial Officer Michael Delehant spoke about the carrier’s plans and said the airline was responding to passengers’ requests.

“While we are very much about density and flying full aircraft. In terms of what we are doing with the extra leg room in the front row, we’ve had a lot of requests from customers that are on business. Like getting on and off the aircraft quickly, with a little bit more space to do work,” explained Delehant.

In December 2025, Wizz Air’s CEO József Váradi told AeroTime: “What we are seeing is that all these prominent asset properties on the aircraft, like the first row, which is the most underutilized asset. So currently, the load factor on the first row is not 100%.”

He added: “We intuitively think that the front row is what people take first, but actually they don’t. We saw that and thought, isn’t there a better way of merchandising this while also meeting some customer needs that we don’t meet now.”
