TAAG Angola Airlines Board Chairman on partnering with Lufthansa, Boeing: video

2025 was an eventful year for TAAG Angola Airlines.

AeroTime readers already got a glimpse of the projects underway at the Angolan flag carrier, and the strategic vision underpinning them, in an in-depth Executive Spotlight interview with the carrier’s Chief Commercial Officer, Miguel Carneiro. On that occasion, speaking with AeroTime during the Annual General Meeting of the International Air Transport Association (IATA) in June 2025, Carneiro shared insights about the carrier’s growing hub-and-spoke network and fleet renewal program.

However, a number of developments have taken place at the African carrier in the six months that followed that conversation.

During the 2025 Dubai Airshow, AeroTime met with Clóvis Martins Rosa, Chairman of the Board of TAAG Angola Airlines, to recap several projects announced by the airline in Q4 2025.

In a video interview filmed onboard an almost factory-new Airbus A220 aircraft, one of the latest additions to TAAG Angola Airlines’ fleet, Martins Rosa explained the rationale behind the strategic partnerships the carrier has signed with Lufthansa Consulting and Boeing.

In November 2025, TAAG announced it had enlisted Lufthansa Consulting to support a thorough overhaul of the airline’s processes in areas such as corporate governance, operations, engineering, maintenance, and route planning.

In parallel to this, TAAG and Boeing also signed an agreement to expand competency-based training programs for both new and experienced pilots. Boeing’s pilot support includes assistance with delivery and acceptance flights, as well as continued and on-the-job instruction.

In this regard, it is worth noting that TAAG has long been a Boeing customer, with the airline having welcomed its fourth B787-9 in December 2025.

The A220, which was being showcased by TAAG Angola Airlines at the show’s static display, is also part of the airline’s efforts to modernize its fleet. These state-of-the-art aircraft will support the carrier’s goal of connecting Africa to the world, via its hub at Luanda’s new Dr. António Agostinho Neto International Airport (NJB).

To learn more about TAAG Angola Airlines’ ambitious plans directly from its Chairman of the Board, Martins Rosa, watch the video below.
