Swiss International Air Lines (SWISS) has taken delivery of its second brand-new Airbus A350-900 in Zurich, further expanding its long-haul operations.

In a statement on February 4, 2026, the carrier announced that the aircraft, registered as HB-IFB and named ‘Delémont’, is the first A350 to bear its classic SWISS livery.

Operating under flight number SWR2ND, the aircraft flew from Toulouse (TLS) to Zurich (ZRH) for about 1 hour and 13 minutes, landing in Zurich at 15:50 local time, according to information from Flightradar24.

Delémont is scheduled to enter revenue service on February 23, 2026, with its inaugural flight from Zurich to Montreal.

“Our first Airbus A350-900 has proved highly reliable in its first hundred days of operation,” said SWISS Chief Operating Officer Oliver Buchhofer. “Eight more of these efficient new twinjets will join us in the years ahead. And each of them will help us steadily further modernize our long-haul aircraft fleet.”

SWISS noted that, with Delémont’s arrival, it will have two Airbus A350s in operation. Starting from Summer 2026, these new long-haul twinjets will be used on the Zurich-Boston and Zurich-Seoul routes.

Currently, SWISS is updating its long-haul fleet. Additionally, the airline plans to refurbish its Airbus A330s throughout 2026, enhancing them with the advanced SWISS Senses cabin.

According to the airline, additional A350s are expected to be delivered in 2026.

SWISS reported that, over its first 100 days, the Airbus A350 has flown about 720,000 kilometers, the equivalent of circling the Earth 18 times and just short of making a round trip to the Moon.

During this time, the aircraft has completed around 300 takeoffs and landings, totaling about 900 flight hours.

So far, the aircraft has served 11 destinations, including Boston (BOS), Düsseldorf (DUS), Geneva (GVA), Hannover (HAJ), Malaga (AGP), Nice (NCE), Palma de Mallorca (PMI), Prague (PRG), Taranto (TAR), Toulouse (TLS), and Zurich (ZRH).
