Starlux Airlines starts new route between Taipei and Prague

Taiwanese carrier Starlux Airlines has launched its first ever service to Europe, connecting Prage-Ruzyne (PRG) to Taipei Taoyuan International Airport (TPE).

The new service to the Czech capital will start on August 1, 2026, with a thrice weekly frequency, expected to increase to four per week in October.

On this route, Starlux Airlines will deploy one of its Airbus A350‑900 aircraft, fitted with 306 seats in a four-class cabin configuration (four First, 26 Business, 36 Premium Economy and 240 Economy Class seats).

Until now, Starlux Airlines, has focused its long-haul expansion on the West Coast of the United States, where it already flies to San Francisco (SFO), Los Angeles International (LAX) and Ontario (ONT), which is also in the LA area. In 2025, the airline announced also the launch of new routes connecting Taipei to Phoenix Sky Harbor (PHX), Arizona, and Seattle-Tacoma (SEA), in Washington State.

It is expected that the Taiwanese carrier will continue to expand its international network during the near future, as it takes delivery of 18 new Airbus A350-1000 aircraft, two of which will be painted in a special ‘gold-plated’ livery devised by Japanese artist Hajime Sorayama.

Strikingly, considering the limited number of direct air links between Europe and Taiwan, Starlux Airlines’ new route will be the second nonstop service between Prague and Taipei. Since 2023, China Airlines has been operating a twice-weekly nonstop service between the two cities, also with A350-900 aircraft, with plans to increase the frequency to thrice-weekly from April 2026.
