Singapore Airshow 2026 concluded its 10th edition on February 8, 2026, setting new attendance records and cementing its position as Asia-Pacific’s premier aerospace and defense gathering

The six-day event at Changi Exhibition Centre drew 65,000 trade visitors from more than 130 countries during its business days, surpassing previous editions. An additional 60,000 members of the public attended the weekend displays, bringing total attendance to 125,000.

Aerial spectacle draws crowds

Eight aerial demonstration teams provided the show’s visual centerpiece, representing a mix of military precision and commercial capability. The Republic of Singapore Air Force’s display team led performances with their F-16C fighters and AH-64D attack helicopters, while international participants included China’s Bayi Aerobatic Team flying J-10 fighters and India’s Sarang helicopter squadron demonstrating formation flying in HAL Dhruv aircraft.

Commercial aviation was represented by Airbus’s A350-1000 demonstration and COMAC’s C919, highlighting the Chinese manufacturer’s continued presence at international air shows. The Royal Australian Air Force and Royal Malaysian Air Force provided solo aerobatic displays with F-35A and SU-30MKM aircraft respectively.

On the ground, visitors explored more than 30 static aircraft displays ranging from military fighters to commercial jets. The collection included Singapore’s own F-15SG and A330 Multi-Role Tanker Transport, alongside visiting aircraft like the German Air Force’s A400M transport and multiple variants of the F-35 Joint Strike Fighter from Australian and US. forces.

Business beyond the displays

While the flying demonstrations captured attention, crucial negotiations took place in meeting rooms and exhibition halls. Over 1,100 companies participated, conducting approximately 1,300 formal delegate meetings that generated concrete business outcomes.

GE Aerospace announced a $300 million expansion of engine repair capabilities in Singapore through 2029, representing the type of major investment commitments the show facilitates. Multiple memoranda of understanding were signed between Singapore’s Economic Development Board and aerospace companies for maintenance, repair, and overhaul expansion and technology development.

ST Engineering used the platform to unveil advanced unmanned systems and announce partnerships with Shield AI and Airbus Defence and Space, demonstrating how the event serves as a launchpad for strategic alliances.

Industry dialogue

The airshow’s AeroForum component brought together more than 50 speakers across 15 sessions, drawing nearly 1,000 delegates for discussions on cybersecurity, artificial intelligence, sustainable aviation, and advanced air mobility.

A notable expansion was AeroCampus, which grew to include 23 exhibitors and engaged 2,500 students. For the first time, overseas aviation training institutions participated, reflecting the event’s educational mission alongside its commercial focus.

APAC’s aerospace growth

The strong turnout suggests continued momentum for Asia-Pacific aerospace growth. Nearly 95% of participating companies indicated interest in returning for the 2028 edition, indicating confidence in regional market prospects despite ongoing global supply chain and geopolitical challenges.

The event’s 20-year evolution mirrors the region’s aerospace development, from primarily showcasing Western and regional military hardware to featuring Chinese commercial aircraft alongside established players. The strong Chinese presence both in aerial demonstrations and static displays shows Beijing’s push to establish COMAC as a credible alternative to Boeing and Airbus in regional markets.

For Singapore, the airshow reinforces the city-state’s position as an aerospace hub, combining strategic location with political stability to attract both manufacturers and operators looking to serve the Asia-Pacific market.
