Seaplane Asia Group, a regional amphibious aviation operator, and Singapore-based NexAvian, which focuses on emerging aviation technologies, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) during the Singapore Airshow 2026 to collaborate on advanced air mobility development across Southeast Asia.

The partnership combines Seaplane Asia’s operational expertise in amphibious aviation with NexAvian’s capabilities in advanced air mobility ecosystem development and regulatory engagement.

The agreement establishes coordination between both organizations to engage with government agencies, regulators, and industry bodies across Southeast Asia.

Joint participation is planned in working groups, technical discussions, and national advanced air mobility framework development, with Thailand identified as an initial priority market.

The partnership will facilitate network introductions and explore opportunities with aircraft manufacturers, infrastructure developers, airports, investors, tourism partners, and technology providers. Both companies plan to participate together in conferences, delegations, and government presentations.

Knowledge sharing and future initiatives

Under the MoU, the organizations will share non-confidential knowledge in areas including flight operations, safety frameworks, regulatory pathways, certification processes, and infrastructure concepts such as water aerodromes and vertiports.

“Seaplane Asia is redefining how people move across Southeast Asia with safe, efficient, and sustainable mobility,” said Michael J Aumock, Chief Commercial Officer of Seaplane Asia. “Our collaboration with NexAvian strengthens this mission.”

The partnership will explore joint initiatives including feasibility studies, advisory engagements, pilot projects, and hybrid-electric or amphibious aircraft demonstrations.

Nick Fragassi, co-founder and Chief Operating Officer of NexAvian, said the collaboration would help “accelerate the development of infrastructure, regulatory frameworks, and operational concepts that will shape the future of aviation in this region.”
