SAS and WestJet form new codeshare linking Canada and Scandinavia

Scandinavian Airlines (SAS) and WestJet have formed a codeshare agreement, improving connections between their networks in Scandinavia and Canada.

In a statement released on December 10, 2025, SAS announced that the agreement will allow SAS customers to travel smoothly through Toronto Pearson International Airport (YYZ) and SAS gateways in the United States.

Meanwhile, WestJet travelers will find it easier to reach SAS hubs in Copenhagen, Oslo, and Stockholm.

“The expanded codeshare partnership with WestJet is an important step in connecting Scandinavia even more closely with Canada,” said Paul Verhagen, Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer at SAS. “It strengthens our main base in Copenhagen and gives travelers on both sides of the Atlantic more options and a smoother overall journey.”

Under the agreement, SAS customers can access more than 10 Canadian destinations beyond Toronto, such as Vancouver, Calgary, and Halifax, all on one ticket with checked baggage included.

WestJet passengers will enjoy convenient one-stop access to Scandinavia and other parts of Europe via SAS’s Copenhagen hub. The airlines also intend to launch a new loyalty partnership.

“With more Canadians wanting to explore Northern Europe, we are proud to help them get there with ease, so they can focus on the destination,” John Weatherill, WestJet Executive Vice-President and Chief Commercial Officer, added.

The partnership is set to grow further in 2026, including codesharing on WestJet’s new Halifax–Copenhagen route starting in May 2026.

WestJet said that this will strengthen connectivity between Atlantic Canada and the Nordic region, offering greater flexibility and new travel opportunities for passengers across both continents.
