The Korean National Police Agency (KNPA) has ordered a single Airbus H225 helicopter for security and rescue missions.
The multirole helicopter will be used for various public service tasks, enhancing the agency’s national security and emergency response capabilities, Airbus announced in a statement on November 24, 2025.
The manufacturer said the Korean National Police Agency will mainly use the H225 for law enforcement and counter-terrorism operations, while also supporting critical missions like search and rescue, humanitarian relief, and disaster response.

We are confident it will become a cornerstone asset for the police agency, enabling them to carry out complex missions with precision and safety.”
All-weather ready helicopter
The H225 is the newest addition to Airbus’ established Super Puma/Cougar family, which has logged over six million flight hours.
The helicopter is marketed for its extensive range and high payload capacity. The H225 can travel up to 1,111 kilometers (600 nautical miles) with standard fuel tanks and has a useful load capacity of 4,750 kilograms.
Moreover, it can transport as many as 28 troops or be set up with six stretchers for medical evacuation (MEDEVAC) operations. According to Airbus, its avionics and autopilot systems are designed to enhance safety and reduce pilot workload.
There are over 360 H225s and H225Ms operating globally, accumulating nearly 980,000 total flight hours.
Military customers include Brazil, France, Hungary, Indonesia, Iraq, Kuwait, Malaysia, Mexico, the Netherlands, Singapore, and Thailand.
