Korean Air opens revamped Prestige Lounge with Ramyeon Library, gaming arcades

Korean Air unveiled its newly renovated Prestige East (Left) Lounge at Incheon International Airport (ICN) Terminal 2 on January 13, 2026. The facility is officially set to open to passengers on January 14, 2026.

The 1,553-square-meter space accommodates 192 seats and features a design inspired by luxury hotel lounges, according to the airline. Standard amenities include buffet and live cooking stations, dining areas, a bar, shower facilities, and dedicated work areas for business travelers.

Ramyeon library part of interactive experience

The renovated lounge introduces several experiential zones designed to appeal to diverse passenger groups, moving beyond conventional airport lounge offerings.

A centerpiece feature is the Ramyeon Library, a self-service station where passengers can customize their own instant noodles. The facility reflects the growing global popularity of Korean food, allowing guests to select their preferred noodles and toppings before cooking them at automated machines.

The lounge also includes Cooking Studio L’atelier, operated in partnership with chefs from the Grand Hyatt Incheon. The studio offers hands-on classes such as chocolate bark making, with participation available through on-site reservations.

For entertainment, an arcade room provides photo booths, claw machines, air hockey, and car racing games, targeting younger travelers and families.

According to Korean Air, these interactive features are designed to create memorable pre-departure experiences and significantly expand options for passengers, particularly families with children and younger age groups.

Digital integration for improved passenger flow

The airline has incorporated technology-driven services to enhance the lounge experience and manage passenger flow.

A new lounge reservation system allows passengers using vouchers or mileage to secure access in advance through the Korean Air website or mobile app. First and Prestige Class passengers, as well as SkyTeam Elite Plus members, retain priority access without requiring reservations.

Real-time crowd monitoring displays current lounge occupancy levels on the airline’s digital platforms, utilizing data from automated entry gates. This enables passengers to choose less congested facilities. Additionally, a mobile queuing system alerts passengers when seats become available during peak periods.

Part of broader Terminal 2 expansion

The reopening of the Prestige East (Left) Lounge, located on the fourth floor of Terminal 2 across from Gate 253, represents part of a larger infrastructure expansion at Incheon’s Terminal 2. The development comes as Korean Air prepares for its integration with Asiana Airlines.

Korean Air completed the first phase of its lounge renewal project in August 2025, opening a redesigned Miler Club and Prestige East (Right) Lounge, along with two Prestige Garden lounges at the terminal’s far ends. The airline plans to complete renovations of the First Class Lounge and Prestige West Lounge by the first half of 2026.Upon completion of all projects, Korean Air’s total lounge area at Terminal 2 will expand from 5,105 square meters to 12,270 square meters, an increase of 2.5 times. Total seating capacity will rise from 898 to 1,566 seats, significantly enhancing service capacity and passenger convenience, according to the airline.
