flydubai has posted the highest turnover in its 15-year history for the full financial year of 2025 with a revenue of AED 13.6 billion (approximately US$ 3.7 billion), a 6% increase over the preceding year.
However, this growth did not translate into higher profitability. EBITDA remained stable at AED 4 billion (US$1.1 billion), almost the same as in 2024, while profit before tax dropped to AED 2.2B (US$ 591 million approximately) from the AED 2.5 billion (US$674) of 2024, marking a record year in this regard.
Profit after tax stood at AED 1.9 billion (US$ 531 million), which represents a rather solid14% net margin by industry standards.
The slight decline in profitability may have been due to passenger numbers and yield increasing at a somewhat slower pace, 2% and 3%, respectively, than the new capacity being added, +6%. The Dubai-based airline carried 15.7 million passengers over the course of 2025, making it the second largest operator by volume in Dubai, after partner Emirates.
In 2025, flydubai continued to expand its network and fleet. The carrier added nine new destinations and resumed service to three other cities. It also saw the net addition of nine aircraft (with the arrival of 12 new Boeing 737 MAX 8 and the withdrawal from service of three older B737-800s), bringing the fleet to a total of 97 aircraft.
This pace of growth is likely to accelerate in the coming years. During Dubai Airshow 2025, flydubai CEO Ghaith Al Ghaith announced major aircraft orders with both Airbus and Boeing for 150 A321neo (plus 100 options) and 75 Boeing 737 MAX 8 aircraft, respectively.
