Etihad Airways and Air Cambodia launch codeshare linking Abu Dhabi to Angkor Wat

Etihad Airways and Air Cambodia have launched a codeshare partnership, giving travelers on both airlines easier connections between the Middle East and Cambodia.

The partnership, which was announced on April 28, 2026, allows Etihad customers to book flights from across its network to Siem Reap International Airport (REP) via Phnom Penh International Airport (PNH) on a single ticket.

Baggage will be checked through to the final destination, removing the need to collect and recheck bags during the connection.

Siem Reap serves as the gateway to Angkor Wat, the ancient temple complex that draws millions of visitors each year. Beyond the temples, the city is known for its night markets, traditional Khmer cuisine, and cultural attractions.

In return, Air Cambodia passengers will be able to book Etihad’s service between Phnom Penh and Abu Dhabi International Airport (AUH).

Expanding reach in Southeast Asia

Arik De, Chief Revenue and Commercial Officer at Etihad Airways, said Cambodia has become an increasingly important market for the airline.

“Cambodia is an important and growing market within our network, with increasing demand for travel to and from the destination,” De said. “This partnership with Air Cambodia enables us to extend that reach, providing our guests with seamless access between Siem Reap and the wider region through a single booking via Abu Dhabi.”

Eng Molina, Chief Commercial Officer at Air Cambodia, said the codeshare strengthens ties between Southeast Asia and the Middle East.

“Our passengers gain direct access to Abu Dhabi, an important hub for business, trade, and tourism, while Etihad’s customers can explore Cambodia’s rich cultural heritage,” Molina said. “We look forward to welcoming more visitors to discover the wonders of Angkor Wat and beyond.”

Vietnam connections through interline agreement

Beyond Cambodia, Etihad guests can also access Air Cambodia’s Vietnam network through a separate interline partnership. This opens up travel options to Tan Son Nhat International Airport (SGN) in Ho Chi Minh City, Da Nang International Airport (DAD), and Phu Quoc International Airport (PQC).

Etihad first launched flights to Phnom Penh in October 2025, connecting the Cambodian capital with Abu Dhabi.
