Emirates announced that it has restored 96% of its global network following weeks of disruption caused by regional conflict, marking a near-full return to normal operations.
The Dubai-based carrier announced on May 4, 2026, that it now operates to 137 destinations across 72 countries, with more than 1,300 weekly flights. That represents 75% of the airline’s pre-disruption capacity.
Services have progressively resumed across the Americas, Europe, Africa, West Asia, the Middle East, the GCC, the Far East, and Australasia.

Passengers kept flying through the disruption
Even while operating a reduced schedule, Emirates carried 4.7 million passengers during the disruption period. The airline said the figure reflects ongoing demand for travel and the trust passengers placed in the carrier to get them to their destinations.
Emirates is now adding more flights, seats, and options each day as it works to reaffirm Dubai’s role as a major global transit hub.
What passengers can expect onboard
The airline said customers can expect its signature experience across all routes, including regionally inspired multi-course meals developed by award-winning chefs, a wide selection of beverages, and the ICE inflight entertainment system, which offers more than 6,500 channels of content in nearly 40 languages.
For passengers who need to stay connected, Emirates now has Starlink high-speed internet live on 28 aircraft.
Flexible bookings and rewards
Emirates is offering several incentives to encourage travel:
Customers who booked from April 2, 2026 onward get one free date change across all cabin classes. Passengers can also hold a fare for 24 hours at no charge.
The Dubai Connect program is available for passengers with layovers in Dubai lasting between 6 and 26 hours. Eligible travelers receive complimentary hotel accommodation at a four or five-star property, airport transfers, meals, and a UAE entry visa where required. The service is available across all cabin classes and can be booked up to 12 hours in advance through the Manage Your Booking section on emirates.com.
Emirates Skywards members can also benefit from accelerated access to premium tiers through reduced requirements and bonus tier miles on Emirates and flydubai flights, available from May 1 through August 31, 2026.
UAE airspace fully reopened
The network restoration follows the lifting of all flight restrictions over UAE airspace.
The General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA) confirmed on May 2, 2026, that normal air navigation operations had resumed following a detailed review of operational and security conditions.
“We are pleased to announce the full resumption of normal air navigation operations across UAE airspace. Following a comprehensive evaluation of operational and security conditions, we have officially lifted the temporary precautionary measures previously in place,” the GCAA said in a statement.
The UAE had introduced partial airspace closures in late February amid escalating hostilities between the US, Israel, and Iran. The conflict triggered one of the most significant airspace disruptions in the Middle East in recent years, with at least eight countries, including Iraq, Jordan, Qatar, Bahrain, and Kuwait, imposing full or partial closures.
The restrictions were gradually eased through March 2026 before full restoration was confirmed in early May 2026.
