Delta TechOps is expanding its global maintenance business through a new long-term agreement with Jet2.com, the UK’s third-largest airline. The contract, announced during MRO Europe 2025 in London, held October 14-16, covers component care services for Jet2’s growing fleet of Boeing and Airbus narrowbody aircraft.
Under the agreement, Delta TechOps will provide mechanical and avionics component support for Jet2.com, strengthening a partnership that began in 2023. The work will be managed primarily from Delta’s US facilities, led by its Atlanta maintenance complex — one of the largest airline maintenance hubs in the world — with more than two dozen component shops handling everything from hydraulic and pneumatic systems to avionics, wheels and brakes, and composite structures.
Expanding a growing business
The agreement is part of Delta’s effort to grow its third-party maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO) business beyond its own fleet. Delta TechOps, a division of Delta Air Lines, now supports more than 150 customers worldwide, providing engine, airframe, and component maintenance across a broad mix of aircraft types — from older models to the latest generation powered by CFM LEAP, Pratt & Whitney GTF, and Rolls-Royce Trent engines.

While Delta does not break out TechOps revenue separately in its financial filings, the business has become a meaningful contributor to the airline’s bottom line. According to Delta’s 2024 annual report, the company generated roughly $770 million in combined revenue from its MRO and vacation businesses. Industry estimates suggest that TechOps alone is approaching the $1 billion annual mark, supported by a strong first half of 2025 in which maintenance revenues reportedly topped $450 million.
These figures are small compared with Delta’s total revenue of more than $60 billion, but they highlight an important diversification strategy. By servicing aircraft for other carriers, Delta not only offsets the fixed costs of operating one of the industry’s largest maintenance networks but also builds relationships with airlines worldwide — including competitors.
Strengthening European presence
The Jet2 contract gives Delta TechOps a larger foothold in Europe, a market dominated by MRO heavyweights such as Lufthansa Technik, AFI KLM E&M, and SR Technics. For Jet2, which continues to expand its network across the Mediterranean and plans to add new Boeing 737 MAX aircraft in the coming years, the partnership offers access to Delta’s extensive technical resources and established reliability record.

Delta TechOps began offering maintenance services to other airlines in 2000 and has since grown into one of the industry’s largest providers of engine, airframe, and component support. The new partnership with Jet2.com extends that work into a key European market, illustrating how Delta’s century-old airline continues to broaden its maintenance business beyond its own fleet.
In announcing the partnership, Delta emphasized its continued investment in both established and next-generation maintenance programs — an approach it says helps customers navigate ongoing supply-chain challenges and extended fleet cycles. The company said the agreement “reinforces TechOps’ reputation as a trusted MRO provider for European carriers, showcasing the scale, reliability and technical depth that sets TechOps apart.”
