Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) is redeveloping its private terminal and expanding its lifestyle offerings at Terminal 2, with the new facilities expected to open in mid-2027.
Changi Airport Group (CAG) announced that it has begun work on transforming the site of the former Commercially Important Persons (CIP) terminal into a travel and lifestyle destination. The project includes an upgraded private terminal and a new amenities cluster connected to the airport’s existing Hub & Spoke area.
The development sits at the southern end of Terminal 2, near the upcoming Hotel Indigo.
A new private terminal with Plaza Premium Group
CAG is partnering with Plaza Premium Group (PPG) to jointly operate the new private terminal. PPG runs the largest network of airport lounges in the world and specializes in airport hospitality services.
The terminal will offer a personalized experience from arrival to boarding, with a deluxe lounge, bar, private suites, and bespoke dining options. Passengers will have access to an exclusive space to rest before their flight, with smooth transfers to boarding gates and easy access to Changi’s retail offerings.
A high-end event space will also be part of the terminal, designed to accommodate larger groups and private gatherings.
Ang Siew Min, CAG’s Senior Vice President for Airport Operations Development and Airport Operations Services, said the project responds to shifting traveler expectations.
“Some of today’s travellers seek more than just a comfortable place to spend time before their flight — they are after a personalized premium experience. CAG is meeting this demand with an upgraded private terminal that delivers an exceptional experience.”
Ang added that a curated selection of dining and wellness options will be available just steps from the private terminal, giving passengers even more choices before their flight.
Mei Mei Song, PPG’s Chief Transformation Officer, added that the partnership aims to set a new standard for premium travelers.
“By bringing together our global expertise in airport hospitality with Changi’s renowned operational excellence, we will offer a new benchmark in personalized, seamless and bespoke services for our discerning guests.”
Expanded Hub & Spoke with dining, wellness, and events
The Hub & Spoke amenities cluster will also grow as part of the redevelopment. New dining concepts, wellness facilities, and pet-friendly spaces are planned, catering to both passengers and local residents.
A covered amphitheatre and open-air plaza will anchor the venue, designed to host intimate and mid-scale events.
Together with the private terminal and its proximity to Hotel Indigo, the expanded Hub & Spoke is intended to turn the southern section of Terminal 2 into a combined travel, lifestyle, and wellness destination.
