Aircraft interior specialist firm Bucher has reached another major milestone in its development by delivering a complete set of bespoke interior components for Air Côte d’Ivoire’s new Airbus A330-900neo. The aircraft is already in service, having been delivered to the carrier on September 3, 2025.

Bucher’s contribution to the latest addition to the Air Côte d’Ivoire fleet includes bespoke cabin stowage areas, self-service bars, and galleys, all of which have been fabricated from cutting-edge materials and precise fabrication, while incorporating “smart design,” said the company.

According to a Bucher statement, “This project showcases our strength in crafting lightweight, yet robust, cabin monuments that are not only engineered for efficiency but also designed to elevate the passenger experience. Each component provided by Bucher has been manufactured to reinforce Air Côte d’Ivoire’s brand identity while” ensuring seamless integration and operational excellence.”

This aircraft, currently registered as TU-TRG, is the first of two A330900neos ordered by Air Côte d’Ivoire. The aircraft was originally expected to enter service in 2024, although, like many new aircraft in the current climate, its delivery was delayed. Before entering service, the aircraft was equipped with the Airbus Airspace cabin, divided into four classes for a total of 242 passengers.

The configuration is four seats in first class, 44 in business class, 21 in premium economy, and 173 in economy class.

Air Côte D’Ivoire is deploying the new A330-900neo on its key route between Abidjan’s Félix-Houphouët-Boigny International Airport (ABJ) and Paris-Charles de Gaulle (CDG). This service only began operating on October 15, 2025, and at the time of writing is heading back to Abidjan on its third commercial service for the carrier.

About providing the cabin components for the A330-900neo,  Bucher said, “These components exemplify our ability to transform airline visions into reality. At Bucher, we don’t just produce cabin elements, we engineer solutions that set new standards in lightweight design, durability, and flexibility.”

“Our galleys and stowages incorporate intelligent fixation systems and electrical integrations, enabling fast, error-free installation and reliable long-term performance. The self-service bar exemplifies our commitment to passenger convenience and operational efficiency in modern airline cabins.”

Bucher

“Built on Heinrich Bucher’s founding vision of lightweight, reliable aluminium structures, now augmented with advanced composites, our innovations empower airlines to meet the demands of tomorrow’s travelers while supporting sustainability and cost-effectiveness.

This achievement isn’t just about delivering components; it’s about redefining what’s possible in airline interiors, bridging West Africa’s growth with global standards. We’re proud to support Air Côte d’Ivoire’s journey, helping them connect more people, more destinations, and more opportunities across the continent.”

In the past, Air Côte d’Ivoire has expressed its interest in expanding its long-haul network beyond the French market. Nonstop services from Abidjan to New York (JFK), Brussels (BRU), and London (LHR), as well as potential other cities, are currently being planned for when its second aircraft is delivered.

Set up in 2012, the government-owned carrier operates a fleet of 12 narrowbody aircraft, which comprises five A319s, two A320ceo, a single A320neo, and four DHC-8 Q400 aircraft.

The Bucher statement ends, “Congratulations to Air Côte d’Ivoire on taking delivery of the first A330-900. We look forward to pioneering the future of airline interior design together.”
