BOND upgrades 24 Bombardier private jet options to Global 8000 due to demand

New private jet fractional operator BOND has upgraded 24 aircraft purchase options with Bombardier to Global 8000 due to “exceptional demand”.

On April 14, the US startup designed to cater for the ultra-wealthy, said it had expanded its Bombardier commitment up to $5 billion after the company was launched last year.

In October 2025, Bombardier unveiled BOND as the company behind a previously undisclosed order for 50-aircraft which included both Challenger 350s and Global 6000s and was valued at $1.7 billion.

The order, initially announced in June 2025, also included 70 new aircraft purchase options.

On April 14, 2026, BOND said it was “accelerating deliveries for 2027 within its existing aircraft order to meet demand” and was also adding four new firm orders for Global aircraft.

Appearing on CNBC’s Squawk Box, BOND founder Bill Papariella said: “We’re seeing that plane [Global 8000] really takeoff in the market and we’re seeing a huge demand for a plane that almost goes the speed of sound.”

BOND’s operating model prioritizes exclusivity over scale in the super-mid to ultra-long-range types and only allows a select number of people to join the fractional private aviation club.

“What’s driving BOND isn’t just demand – it’s conviction,” said Papariella. “Our founding members aren’t passive buyers. They co-invested in the company because they believe this model should exist. When some of today’s most prolific entrepreneurs, investors, and entertainers put capital behind the operator, not just the aircraft, that tells you something about how underserved the premium end of this market has been.”

According to BOND, the expanded commitment follows overwhelming demand from BOND’s founding member investment round.

All of BOND’s founding members have not only purchased fractional interests in specific aircraft, but have also co-invested in the company itself, aligning BOND’s first full year of aircraft owners with the company who operates the fleet.

“This acceleration underscores the market’s high demand for bespoke business travel offerings and reflects BOND’s immediate success and confidence in Bombardier, our aircraft, and top-rated global service network,” said Éric Martel, President and CEO, Bombardier.

The Global 8000 has a top speed of Mach 0.95, making it the fastest civil aircraft since Concorde. It is powered by two GE Passport 20 engines and features a four-zone cabin configuration.

The aircraft received Transport Canada type certification in November 2025, FAA approval in December, and EASA certification in January 2026. Bombardier handed over the first Global 8000 business jet to NetJets in March 2026.

BOND is scheduled to launch the US in 2027, with the backing of private equity giant KKR.
