BermudAir launches AnguillAir brand linking high-end resort island to US

BermudAir, an airline that, until now, has primarily served the Bermuda to the United States market, has launched a new, and previously announced, scheduled service to connect the small island of Anguilla to Boston-Logan (BOS), Newark Liberty International Airport (EWR) and Washington-Baltimore (BWI) under new brand AnguillAir.

The British Overseas Territory of Anguilla is part of the chain of islands known as the Lesser Antilles. Located in the central Caribbean, between the French Overseas Department of Saint Martin and the US Virgin Islands, Anguilla is home to around 15,000 people, but it is also a high-end tourist destination, with multiple luxury resorts dotting the island’s shores.

The new nonstop services to Boston, Newark and Baltimore will begin on December 17, 18 and 19, 2025, respectively and will run twice weekly between each of these city pairs.

BermudAir operates four Embraer E-Jets (two E175 and two E195 aircraft, fitted with 88-seat 96-seats, respectively, in a two-class configuration). In 2023, the Bermudan carrier toyed with the idea of launching a premium business-only operation to the US, but the concept was dropped after only six weeks, and the company reverted to a more conventional dual-class business model.

AnguillAir’s flights will be operated with BermudAir’s Air Operator Certificate (AOC). However, the airline explained that the launch of a separate brand, with its own identity and designs just one initial step to grow and diversify its business in the region.

These new routes significantly expand connectivity from Anguilla’s Clayton J. Lloyd International Airport (AXA). The only other nonstop service currently operating between Anguilla and the United States mainland is American Eagle’s nonstop route to Miami International (MIA).
