The Kizilema has been testing an AESA radar for a while, while a previous prototype progressed from captive carry trials of air-to-ground munitions to live-fire in a matter of days. Turkey’s Kizilelma UCAV has started captive carry trials with Gökdoğan BVR (Beyond Visual Range) AAMs (Air-to-Air Missiles), while also testing the Murad-100A AESA (Active Electronically Scanned Array) radar and the TOYGUN EOTS (Electro-Optical Tracking System). Developer Baykar and its chief technology officer Selçuk Bayraktar released three videos on Nov. 18, 19 and 20, 2025, showing the test flights. While the first two were called the “GÖKDOĞAN Munition Linked Flight Test…
Frontier Airlines is now doubling down on the airline’s “New Frontier” strategy with a twin push on network growth and ultra-aggressive pricing products. For early 2026, the carrier is going to be adding four new routes linking Newark, Orlando, Miami, Chicago O’Hare, Salt Lake City, Tucson, and Pensacola with new affordable service. This includes introductory one-way fares that are set to start as low as $29. At the same time, the carrier has launched its 2026-2027 GoWild all-you-can-fly annual pass that starts at a promotional rate of just $349, promising nearly a year and a half of unlimited travel across…
China’s attempt to exploit the May 2025 India-Pakistan clash to undermine the Rafale fighter has now been formally documented in a US congressional report, confirming allegations first raised by French intelligence earlier this year. The 2025 Annual Report of the US-China Economic and Security Review Commission (USCC) describes a coordinated effort by Beijing to use the four-day conflict as both a live-fire demonstration of Chinese systems and an information campaign targeting Dassault’s flagship fighter. The assessment aligns with reporting by intelligence sources and defense officials, which detailed how Chinese diplomatic officials and online networks amplified claims that Pakistan had downed…
On November 16, 2025, Real Housewives of Atlanta cast member Porsha Williams was seen being escorted off a Delta Air Lines flight by police. She had just flown Delta first class from Las Vegas (LAS) to Atlanta (ATL) after attending BravoCon, and we didn’t actually know what happened at the time. Police body cam footage from the incident has now been released, and tells the story of what happened. I realize (hope?) that most people don’t actually care about Real Housewives, but it’s an interesting story of an inflight incident that clearly escalated, and I’d find it equally interesting if…
Cirium data reveals that around 1,800 Airbus A380 flights are scheduled to European destinations each month across six airlines. The busiest routes include flights to London Heathrow and Paris. Due to the aircraft’s massive size, only the largest and best equipped airports are capable of dealing with the A380. Data from marketing materials released in 2015 revealed a vast airport compatibility network. This included 125 destination compatible airports, but far more that could serve as alternate compatible airports in an emergency and ones that could become compatible in the future. Read this article to learn about the airports that can…
US federal investigators probing the deadly crash of a UPS MD-11 in Louisville have released a preliminary report showing that the airplane’s left engine was operating normally at the time of the tragedy and did not fail or fall from the freighter to the runway. Instead, the report says the engine and pylon were torn from the wing during the takeoff rotation, vaulting up and over the fuselage as the trijet lifted off on the late afternoon of November 4, 2025. The National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) released its preliminary report on November 20, 2025, providing the clearest picture yet of what may have caused the crash of UPS Flight 2976, an MD-11F that went down in flames shortly…
Hello from France, as I continue the outbound portion of my review trip to Bangkok! For the second segment of my trip, I flew Air France’s Boeing 787-9 business class on the 6hr25min flight from Montreal (YUL) to Paris (CDG). While I fly Air France across the Atlantic fairly frequently, it had been many years since I flew the carrier’s Dreamliner business class, which admittedly doesn’t have the latest products (unlike some Airbus A350-900s and Boeing 777-300ERs). I’ve gotta say, as usual, Air France impresses across the Atlantic, even if the Dreamliner doesn’t have cutting edge seats. I found the service…
United Airlines will no longer fly between Newark and Stockholm. Inherited from Continental, the Star Alliance member’s seasonal service will not return in 2026. The airline has confirmed the route’s elimination on November 19. This airport pair is somewhat more notable than others. Timed at up to 8h 45m, it was going to be the longest scheduled transatlantic Boeing 757 passenger operation. And while Russia’s Azur Air has a marginally longer winter 757 service between Moscow and the Maldives, United’s Swedish offering was down to be the world’s longest 757 operation next summer. United Ends Flights From Newark To Sweden…
Congressional leaders have introduced a bipartisan bill designed to ensure that US air traffic controllers and other key Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) workers continue to receive pay during any future government shutdowns. The proposal, called the Aviation Funding Solvency Act, is backed by the top Republicans and Democrats on the House Transportation and Infrastructure Committee. The measure would draw from a rarely used $2.6 billion insurance fund originally established to compensate airlines if the federal government ever requisitioned their aircraft. Lawmakers say tapping that fund would prevent a repeat of the recent 43-day shutdown, when thousands of controllers and other essential aviation workers were forced to stay…
On November 4, 2025, we saw a horrific accident, whereby a UPS McDonell Douglas MD-11 crashed while taking off from Louisville (SDF), killing the three pilots onboard, plus 11 people on the ground. Just over two weeks after the accident, the National Transportation Safety Board (NTSB) has released its preliminary report, and the findings confirm what most people had suspected. UPS MD-11 had fatigue cracks on engine pylon mount lug Since there was video of the UPS MD-11 crash, we had a sense of what happened. Specifically, we know that the plane’s left engine separated from the plane during the…
