Lufthansa has completed the assembly of two historic aircraft at its Hangar One facility near Frankfurt Airport. The Junkers Ju 52 and Lockheed L-1649A Super Star will be the centerpiece exhibits when the airline’s new conference and visitor center opens in 2026, coinciding with the 100th anniversary of Deutsche Luft Hansa’s founding. A Journey from Paderborn to Frankfurt The beloved “Aunt Ju” spent the past four years at Paderborn-Lippstadt Airport (PAD), where a group of aviation enthusiasts called the Quax Association restored the aircraft to its former glory. Both aircraft arrived in Frankfurt in pieces aboard heavy transport trucks and…

Recently I covered how we took our older son, Miles, to Disney for the first time, which was quite the adventure. During our trip, we spent three nights at the Four Seasons Resort Orlando at Walt Disney World, and I’d like to share some thoughts on that stay. The Four Seasons Orlando is a fascinating property, because it’s Four Seasons’ highest room count property globally, with 443 rooms and suites. But I think this property also perfectly captures what impresses me most about Four Seasons — the brand is remarkably good at delivering consistently high quality and friendly service (even at…

Jet lag can be one of the most annoying parts of flying long distances and is classified as a type of circadian rhythm sleep disorder. The Boeing 787 Dreamliner’s revolutionary cabin design helps passengers arrive relatively more refreshed and a little less jet-lagged. While the Boeing 787 is not unique in this regard, as most of the innovations are also found on the Airbus A350, it was the first airliner to offer this level of passenger comfort. Jet lag is something that affects older passengers (particularly those over 60) more. It is a modern phenomenon, as older modes of transport,…

When you think of airlines that offer a world class experience, carriers like Qatar Airways or Singapore Airlines might come to mind. It’s very rare for a small airline to really go above and beyond to offer a massively differentiated experience. A while back, I wrote about how an airline was promoting what sounded like a very impressive product, but I wondered if it was really as great as it sounded. Well, a reader has kindly shared his experience on this flight, which I’d like to cover in this post (it’s not often I have guest quasi trip reports, but…

In its most recent revision, Airbus changed its delivery targets. In early December 2025, the European aircraft manufacturer said it would deliver around 790 aircraft this year, instead of the previously targeted 820. The company reduced its initial target in light of recent supplier quality issues affecting fuselage panels, which have impacted the Airbus A320 family’s delivery flow. However, it remains unclear whether the manufacturer will be able to reach this target, as it still needs to deliver more than 100 aircraft. 133 Aircraft Are Still Needed To Hit 2025’s Delivery Goal Credit: Airbus As of November 2025, Airbus had delivered…
