Flight Instructor Detected A Vibration; Shortly Thereafter He Heard A Loud Bang, The Engine Lost Total Power Analysis: During an instructional flight, the flight instructor detected a vibration; shortly thereafter he heard a loud bang, the engine lost total power, and the nose dropped. He performed a forced landing to a heavily vegetated field. After landing, the flight instructor noticed that the propeller was missing. It was later found in a nearby residence; no one was injured. The airplane sustained substantial damage to both wings, the fuselage, and the empennage.

Textron Aviation closed out 2025 on a strong note as the Cessna and Beechcraft builder accelerated deliveries and capped the year with record revenue.  For the October-to-December quarter, Textron Aviation brought in about $1.7 billion in revenue, up 36% from the same period a year earlier. After a half-century of flying turboprop ISR aircraft, the U.S. Army is turning to business jets. The service plans to buy up to 11 customized Bombardier Global 6500 aircraft for its High Accuracy Detection and Exploitation System, or HADES, program, according to the Army’s recent Request for Information. Contractors must be able to provide up to four planes per year, based on a contract award in October 2026. Sweden’s Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson confirmed that Stockholm has begun discussions with France and the United Kingdom on nuclear deterrence.
