An unfortunate incident earlier this week in Denver saw two cherry-picker-type lift machines collide, resulting in the death of a maintenance technician working for United Airlines. Reports indicate that both the airline and the police are investigating the circumstances of the collision, which led to the unfortunate loss of life. The Airbus A350-1000 has a brand-new operator in Philippine Airlines, with the carrier welcoming its first aircraft into the fleet this week. The airline has a total of nine firm orders with Airbus for the long-range widebody and an additional three options, with all deliveries scheduled for completion by the end of 2027. Mexico’s two major low-cost carriers, Viva Aerobus and Volaris, have decided to enter an equal merger partnership wherein the two carriers will maintain their individual brands and the two airlines will have a 50% stake each in the newly proposed merged organization. This merger is aimed to be executed in 2026, assuming it receives approval from the Mexican regulatory authority and gets the green light from relevant antitrust regulators.
