The US is the country with the world’s third most Airbus A380 flights, after the UAE and UK. In the first half of 2026, seven carriers will fly the superjumbo to the US: All Nippon, Asiana, British Airways, Emirates, Korean Air, Lufthansa, and Qantas. Korean Air recently confirmed the type will return to New York JFK and Los Angeles next summer. Despite this, Cirium Diio data shows total A380 flights remain down by 5% compared to the first half of 2025. And they’re 31% lower than in the same six months before the pandemic in 2019. The US’s Ten Longest…
President Donald Trump has presided over a rapid surge of U.S. military activity abroad since returning to the Oval Office. In the first year of his second term, he has authorized a series of strikes ranging from the unprecedented use of bunker-buster bombs against Iran’s most fortified nuclear sites to a sustained counternarcotics campaign off the Venezuelan coast. Trump, who has labeled himself a “peace president,” frames the expansion of force as a strategy of “peace through strength.” At his inaugural ball in January, he declared, “We will measure our success not only by the battles we win but also…

Video Data Are Consistent With The Pilot Losing Control Of The Airplane During A Climbing Turn During A Go-Around Analysis: The pilot attempted a landing at the airport and subsequently conducted a go-around. During the go-around, witnesses observed the airplane’s left wing dip perpendicular to the ground before the airplane entered a near-vertical descent. According to a study conducted with video evidence, the airplane transitioned from stable flight at a speed close to the airplane’s stall speed to flight with a large bank angle and crashed shortly thereafter.
From 2023 (YouTube Edition): Putting the ANT in Antihero A Beech Starship speeds along at altitude. “Deflectors on!” a voice from within the aircraft cries. “Look! Over there!” the voice continues, “A droid battle star. I’ll bet they’ve detected us!” A second voice, this time from the Starship’s cockpit. “It’s a real pain being the pilot of a Beech Starship the day after the owner saw Star Wars.” “Forget TCAS,” the first voice exclaims. “Use the Force!” Such are the anecdotes and inside aerospace jokes by which cartoonist Wes Oleszewski’s work is characterized.

British Airways will soon be rolling out a change that will no doubt be controversial with those who like their traditional English breakfast… British Airways simplifies Club Europe breakfast service As of January 7, 2026, British Airways will be modifying the breakfast service on many of its short flights within Europe, for those traveling in the carrier’s Club Europe business class. Currently, the airline typically offers two or three hot options, but that will no longer be the case across the board. Under the new policy, the airline will instead simply have one option on select routes — a fruit…
Singapore Airlines and Hong Kong’s Cathay Pacific are two of the premier flag carriers of Asia. Both offer very similar premium economy seating options, although Singapore typically provides a larger checked baggage allowance than Cathay Pacific. On select routes, Singapore also operates the A380, something Cathay doesn’t have. Both airlines’ mainline fleets are widebody aircraft-heavy. Many readers may have their own preferences based on personal experience flying for these airlines. At the end of the day, what is best is, to a large extent, a personal value judgment that can’t always be determined by measuring inches in personal space and…
The new year is nearly here. Scheduled passenger airlines worldwide plan 96,600 flights on January 1, down by a modest 3% compared to a typical Thursday in the month. Naturally, the reduction is nowhere near as dramatic as it is for Christmas Day. For one thing, Ryanair has 3,100 services on New Year’s Day, against none on Christmas Day. According to Cirium Diio, 111 passenger flights are due to land at their destination airport at 23:59 on December 31, of which a massive 89 involve the US. Will those flights actually touch down in 2025 or 2026? Four flights are…
Hindustan Aeronautics Limited (HAL) has completed the first flight of the Dhruv New Generation (NG) multi-role helicopter, marking a key step in the Indian manufacturer’s push into the civil helicopter market. The first flight took place on December 30, 2025, at HAL’s helicopter division in Bengaluru and followed a formal inauguration ceremony attended by Indian Civil Aviation Minister Kinjarapu Ram Mohan Naidu. The Dhruv NG is a twin-engine helicopter that builds on the long-running Advanced Light Helicopter (ALH) Dhruv program. HAL said the Dhruv NG has been developed to meet the operational demands of India’s challenging topography while also addressing certification and performance requirements for the global civil aviation market.…
