I don’t ordinarily cover the financial results of the major European airline groups, because, well… there are only so many hours in the day. However, they are often interesting, and that includes the 2025 Lufthansa Group financial results that have just been released. In this post, I’d like to focus on the one aspect of these results that I find to be most noteworthy. Lufthansa Group margins range from 0.9% to 9.3%For the 2025 financial year, Lufthansa Group is promoting how it achieved record revenue, though profitability is down slightly compared to 2024. That’s not too surprising when you look…
Embraer is targeting up to 255 aircraft deliveries in 2026, comprised of 80 to 85 commercial aircraft and between 160 and 170 executive jets. On March 6, 2026, Embraer published details of its outlook for the rest of the year, as well as its financial performance in 2025, which included securing $7.5 billion in revenue. The increase in revenue represented Embraer’s highest annual level ever, an 18% increase over 2025 when the figure reached $6.5 billion. In 2026, the target revenue is in the $8.2 to $8.5 billion range. In 2025, Embraer delivered 78 commercial aircraft and 155 executive jets,…
Without a doubt, American Airlines’ most lucrative international market is London Heathrow (LHR), given that it’s also a hub for joint venture partner British Airways. London is a market where you’d think American would want to put its best foot forward. However, the airline is currently dealing with a major issue when it comes to catering at the airport, and passengers are noticing. American isn’t locally catering flights at London Heathrow JonNYC broke the story about how since Saturday, February 28, 2026, American hasn’t been catering flights out of Heathrow Airport, as the airline has (at least temporarily) cut ties…
The Trump administration has backed United Airline’s ban on passengers not using headphones while watching films and listening to music during flights. United Airlines confirmed that it had revised its contract of carriage, to include its right to remove passengers “who fail to use headphones while listening to audio or video content”. According to USA Today, United amended its conditions of service on February 27, 2026. The airline said that new Wi-Fi rules were already encouraging customers to use headphones. In a statement to the news publication, United acknowledged that, with the “expansion of Starlink, it seemed like a good…
Spanish space company PLD Space has closed a €180 million Series C funding round led by Mitsubishi Electric Corporation. The Japanese conglomerate will also become the startup’s strategic partner and launch customer. In addition to providing capital to accelerate the development and industrial production of the MIURA 5 rocket, this agreement can also be regarded as a vector for the Spanish firm’s future expansion in the satellite launch market in Asia. This round, which takes the total amount of capital raised to date by PLD Space past the €350 million mark, has also seen the participation of Spanish public and…
The Association of Professional Flight Attendants (APFA), which represents American Airlines’ 28,000 flight attendants, isn’t happy with management right now. Recently, the union issued a vote of no confidence in CEO Robert Isom, which is the first time the union has ever done that. That’s not the extent of the drama, though. The union is now accusing Isom of trying to close the earnings gap with Delta and United by downgrading layover hotels in order to cut costs. Okay, unless crews are laying over at Amans, I think it’s going to take a little more than that to close the…
Speaking British broadcasters on March 6, 2026, UK Foreign Secretary David Lammy suggested that British aircraft could lawfully strike Iranian missile sites in self-defense, if needed to prevent attacks on British personnel or interests in the Middle East. Lammy’s statement signals how far London’s defensive posture has expanded as the conflict spills across the wider region. Lammy said that the UK would support defensive action and indicated that hitting Iranian launch sites or other military targets used to prepare attacks could be considered legal under that framework. His remarks build on the British government’s published position that British involvement is tied to collective self-defense, and to necessary, proportionate action against ongoing attacks. Prime Minister Keir Starmer had already outlined…
Turkish Airlines has posted its full year consolidated results for 2025, showing a record revenue of US$24.1 billion, 6.3% up from $22.7 billion in 2024. This is the largest revenue ever posted by the Turkish group, which posted also an EBITDAR (Earnings Before Interest, Tax, Depreciation, Amortization and Rent) of US$5.7 billion for the full year. By industry standards, this figure represents a fairly healthy EBITDAR margin of 23.7%, completely in line with the company’s own profitability goals. This revenue increase was driven mostly by the passenger transportation business, which grew by 7.4% and offset a small decline in cargo…
Leaf spring receptacles are used in a wide range of aerospace-related applications. You can find them in engine cowlings, aircraft access panels, electrical housings, doors and more. Even with their widespread usage, though, many people are unfamiliar with them. What are leaf spring receptacles exactly? The Basics of Leaf Spring Receptacles Leaf spring receptacles are fastener components used in quick-access fastening systems. As their name suggests, they are designed to receive a spring-loaded fastener, such as a quarter-turn fastener. Leaf spring receptacles feature a thin strip of metal, the “leaf,” that flexes to apply tension. How Leaf Spring Receptacles Work…
