JetBlue is expanding transcontinental flying out of Fort Lauderdale, adding more daily business class service to San Diego, Los Angeles, and San Francisco.  The premium expansion is part of the carrier’s efforts to turn Fort Lauderdale into a third base following Spirit’s collapse. A record 72.2 million Americans are expected to travel for the July Fourth holiday, thanks in large part to a busy Alaska cruise season.  The holiday travel forecast from AAA is up just 0.5% from 2025’s 71.8 million, with travel by car and air relatively flat.
