A KLM flight attendant has been hospitalized in isolation in Amsterdam after coming into contact with a passenger who later died from hantavirus following an outbreak linked to the Dutch expedition cruise ship MV Hondius. The flight attendant, who is from Haarlem in the Netherlands, was admitted to Amsterdam UMC with mild symptoms and is being tested for hantavirus, the Dutch Ministry of Public Health confirmed, according to NL Times. A US Air Force B-1B Lancer that was retired in 2021 has returned to active service after nearly two years sitting dormant in a desert aircraft storage depot, as the service now moves to keep its aging bomber fleet flying into the late 2030s.  The aircraft, tail number 86-0115, recently left Tinker Air Force Base in Oklahoma after maintenance crews restored it to combat-capable status.   The bomber had been stored at the 309th Aerospace Maintenance and Regeneration Group at Davis-Monthan Air Force Base in Arizona, better known as the boneyard.  The B-1B returned to Dyess Air Force Base, Texas, where it will serve as the new flagship of the 7th Bomb Wing.   The aircraft has been named…

The World Health Organization (WHO) confirmed that an adult female passenger found to have hantavirus infection, and subsequently died, flew from St Helena to Johannesburg last month. It appears that the deceased woman is part of a cluster of passengers aboard a cruise ship who have been infected with the disease linked to rodents. Finnish synthetic aperture radar (SAR) satellite operator ICEYE embedded a deployable ISR Cell at the core of a French Army infantry brigade during the ORION 2026 exercise in April 2026, the company said in a blog post on May 6, 2026.
