The Rapid Dragon program, now called Dragon Cart, transitioned to a Program of Record and will see cargo aircraft able to deploy palletized cruise missiles by 2027. The U.S. Air Force’s Rapid Dragon program is now an official Program of Record (PoR), the Air Force Life Cycle Management Center (AFLCMC) announced on Apr. 30, 2026. A PoR status means the system has been formally approved by the government and guarantees Congressional funding allocation in future budgets. Rapid Dragon saw the Air Force using cargo aircraft such as the C-130J Hercules and its derivatives, and the C-17 Globemaster III to conduct…
To kick off my two-part birthday trip to the Golden Triangle, I had the chance to check out the American Flagship Lounge Miami (MIA), prior to my Qatar Airways A350 business class flight to Doha (DOH). Separately, I reviewed the British Airways Lounge Miami, which is the primary lounge Qatar Airways uses at the airport. Now, Miami is my home airport, and I’ve visited the Flagship Lounge a countless number of times over the years. However, I haven’t reviewed it in around eight years, so it seems like it’s time to revisit it, as a lot has changed.Look, what can one really…

A person died at Denver International Airport (DEN) after being hit on the runway by a Frontier Airlines aircraft. The aircraft was on its take-off run when the pilots told the control tower they…
We know that many countries have set aggressive climate goals, and actually achieving those isn’t proving to be so easy. So along those lines, local politicians in Amsterdam have just introduced new regulations that are sure to be controversial. I sort of see where they’re coming from, but this all strikes me as being a step too far. Amsterdam rolls out extreme airline advertising ban As of May 2026, the Dutch capital of Amsterdam has introduced new policies, intended to better align local advertising regulations with the climate goals in the city and country, as flagged by Live and Let’s…
An Air Europa Boeing 737-800 suffered a runway excursion upon landing at Palma de Mallorca (PMI) on May 9, 2026. The aircraft (with registration EC-OBP) was operating flight UX6079, inbound from Madrid-Barajas (MAD), and upon landing in Palma at around 20.30 local time, it skidded until it became immobilized at the edge of the runway. Emergency services flocked to the aircraft to evacuate its occupants, although no one was injured in the incident. The original cause of the incident was, reportedly, a bird strike which the aircraft suffered as it departed Madrid and which affected its frontal undercarriage. The pilots…
We know that American is greatly lagging Delta and United when it comes to financial performance, and executives at the airline finally realize that the airline needs to become more premium in order to succeed. So American has made an impressive number of positive changes in recent times, which the airline should be commended for. What I find sad is the extent to which the airline fails at the basics, and seemingly doesn’t have a plan for addressing that. This seems like it should be the easiest thing to fix, yet the airline can’t seem to actually make any headwind…
During this year’s Victory Day parade, Russian media showed a CGI flyover by the Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams, followed by real images of Su-25s painting the Russian flag in the sky. Russia’s annual Victory Day parade on Moscow’s Red Square took an unusual turn this year when state media broadcasts appeared to replace part of the traditional aerial flypast with computer-generated imagery (CGI). Compared to previous years, this year’s edition of the parade only featured a flypast of a formation composed by the Russian Knights and Swifts aerobatic teams and a Su-25 formation which painted the Russian flag…
