These days, the Airbus A350 is a hotly contested plane in the commercial passenger aviation market, with its order backlog still greater than the number of units in circulation more than 10 years after its first flight. Being the first Airbus aircraft to be mostly made from carbon-fibre-reinforced polymers, or composite materials, the aircraft’s lightness is one of many things contributing to its amazing efficiency, making it a popular choice among airlines. Scanning airport luggage would seem to the outside world to be somewhat of a monotonous, albeit critical, occupation. However, every now and then something unusual pops up on the security screens at airports. United States Customs and Border Protection (CBP) officers discovered what appeared as human bones in a traveler’s luggage at Tampa International Airport (TPA). According to a report by NBC News, the passenger said that the human remains, including a part of the skull wrapped in foil, were intended for rituals. Director of Field Operations at CBP, Carlos C. Martel, wrote on X that the passenger initially declared…
The rare overseas deployment of a US Navy E-6B Mercury nuclear command and control aircraft has drawn international attention after it crossed the Atlantic Ocean and entered European airspace. Flight tracking data shows the aircraft operating with callsigns WEPT45 and WEPT25. While the E-6B typically operates inside the United States, this flight path indicated the aircraft was approaching the United Kingdom and likely continuing toward Ramstein Air Base in Germany. A key nuclear command aircraft The Boeing E-6B Mercury has served for more than 30 years as part of the United States’ Take Charge and Move Out (TACAMO) mission. It…

The CAEW-type aircraft might be pitched to Taiwan to replace its five E-2K Hawkeyes, after it could not acquire the E-2D Advanced Hawkeye. L3Harris appears to be pitching its AEW&C (Airborne Early Warning and Control) aircraft concept at the TADTE 2025 exhibition in Taiwan, images from Sep. 20, 2025, showed. Based on the proven Bombardier Global 6500 carrier aircraft, the CAEW (Conformal Airborne Early Warning)-type aircraft would see L3Harris integrating conformal radar arrays on the sides of the fuselage, rather than systems mounted on the top fuselage. The CAEW sensors and radar are developed by IAI (Israeli Aerospace Industries)/ELTA. L3Harris…
Brazil’s Azul Airlines has filed a reorganization plan in a US bankruptcy court in New York, detailing how it plans to slash more than $2 billion in debt with new equity, reworked aircraft leases, and fleet reductions after months of financial strain. The airline, formed in 2008 by JetBlue founder David Neeleman, grew rapidly by connecting secondary Brazilian cities with low-cost fares and a modern fleet of Embraer regional jets. That expansion gave Azul a commanding share of Brazil’s domestic market, but it also left the carrier heavily exposed to dollar-denominated lease and debt obligations that have become harder to sustain. Azul’s bankruptcy plan,…
