China has shown for the first time its newest naval aircraft launching and recovering aboard the catapult-equipped Fujian carrier. The PLA (People’s Liberation Army) Navy’s CNS Fujian (CV-18) carrier, an EMALS (Electro-Magnetic Launch System) configured flattop, attained a major milestone on Sep. 22, 2025. Hong Kong International Airport (HKG) will shut down all passenger flights for 36 hours from the evening of September 23, 2025, until September 25, 2025, as the city prepares for the arrival of ‘super typhoon’ Ragasa. The unprecedented 36-hour shutdown is the longest in HKIA’s recent history, surpassing the 20-hour and 13-hour closures for previous typhoons in recent years. Russia is calling on the International Civil Aviation Organization ( ICAO) to lift sanctions on spare parts and overflights, citing safety concerns. The plea comes ahead of the 42nd ICAO Assembly in Montréal, Canada. Russia is dismissing a largely global response to the war in Ukraine, saying that “unlawful coercive measures” violate people’s right to free movement. U.S. Air Force Chief of Staff General David Allvin announced on Sept. 22, 2025 that Boeing had begun the manufacturing process for the first production F-47, with a goal of seeing it airborne by 2028.
