Sweden has signed a contract for four Embraer C-390 Millennium multi-mission airlifters, becoming the latest European nation to join the joint procurement framework led by the Netherlands and Austria. The signing took place on October 6, 2025, at Uppsala Air Base, in a ceremony attended by Swedish Minister for Defence Pål Jonson, Swedish Air Force Commander Major General Jonas Wikman, and representatives from other C-390 nations including the Netherlands, Austria, Portugal, Hungary, the Czech Republic and Brazil. On October 26, IndiGo will take off from Mumbai to London Heathrow. A long time coming, this route was officially announced on October 6, meaning less than three weeks’ notice has been given to drive sales and awareness. This is an exceptionally short amount of time. Its codeshare agreement with Turkish Airlines and the awareness surrounding its Mumbai-Manchester operation will help somewhat. Named ‘Isla del Bluencanto’, the livery features a vibrant color scheme designed by Puerto Rican artist Juan Gutiérrez Rovira, also known as The Stencil Network. Selected as a result of a public vote in March 2025, the bold design of the newly unveiled Airbus A320 “celebrates Puerto Rico’s rich culture and spirit while showcasing iconic symbols of Puerto Rican heritage. Air Astana is expanding its international network for the 2025-2026 winter season, restoring routes and increasing capacity across the Middle East and Asia as regional travel demand continues to strengthen.  The Kazakh flag carrier resumed flights from Almaty and Shymkent to Jeddah, Saudi Arabia’s gateway to Mecca, in September 2025.
