AirJapan, a subsidiary of All Nippon Airways (ANA), will roll out a series of three onboard events from December 2025 through March 2026. The program offers passengers instant photo sessions, sake and wine tastings, and a capsule toy game on select flights.

The program is a product of discussions among cabin crew and management who wanted to create memorable experiences for passengers during the holiday and spring travel seasons. The airline said it spent roughly a year developing the initiative.

Holiday photo sessions

The first event runs during the Christmas and New Year period, offering passengers instant photos taken by cabin crew using Instax analog cameras. The service will be available December 23-25 and December 31, 2025, through January 3, 2026, on flights between Tokyo’s Narita Airport (NRT) and Bangkok Suvarnabhumi Airport (BKK) or Singapore’s Changi Airport (SIN).

Sake and wine tastings at 30,000 feet

From January 16-30, 2026, passengers can sample complimentary Japanese sake and wine that are featured in the airline’s beverage service.

The timing coincides with the season when newly brewed sake made from fresh rice becomes available in Japan.

The tastings will be offered on the same Tokyo-Bangkok and Tokyo-Singapore routes.

Capsule toy game returns

AirJapan will bring back its “Gacha” capsule toy event from February 9 through March 28, 2026, following its debut as a summer promotion earlier this year. Passengers can participate for JPY 500 (approx US$3.00) per attempt.

Six prize categories are available, including a 1:400 scale model airplane as the grand prize (one per flight), AirJapan eco bags as first prize (50 total winners), and newly created items such as mini pouches, towels, acrylic keychains, and ribbons.

This event will run on the Bangkok and Singapore routes, with an additional Singapore flight (flight number NQ113) included. The airline describes the programs as part of its broader effort to incorporate Japanese cultural elements like instant photography and capsule toys into the flight experience. All three events are limited to specific date ranges and routes.
