Uzbekistan Airways saw a busy second day at the Dubai Airshow after signing two agreements with two Chinese lessors to acquire a total of six new Airbus A321neo aircraft.

First up on November 18, 2025, was the announcement that Uzbekistan Airways had signed a Letter of Intent (LOI) with the Chinese leasing company ICBC Aviation.

Under the agreement, two new Airbus A321neo aircraft featuring a two-class cabin configuration would be delivered to the airline between 2027 and 2028.

The arrangement between Uzbekistan Airways and ICBC Aviation was the first time the companies had collaborated.

The new Airbus A321neo aircraft will be equipped with Airbus’s advanced Airspace Premium cabins, a modern in-flight entertainment system, and onboard internet connectivity.

“This cooperation with ICBC Aviation Leasing underscores Uzbekistan Airways’ commitment to fostering international partnerships, expanding its fleet with modern and fuel-efficient aircraft, and offering passengers new opportunities for comfortable and safe travel,” said a spokesperson for Uzbekistan Airways.

Later in the day Uzbekistan Airways signed a second LOI with China Aircraft Leasing Group (CALC) to acquire four new Airbus A321neo aircraft.

The agreement signaled an expansion of the two companies’ relationship with a now total of six Airbus A321neo aircraft set to arrive from CALC between 2026 and 2028.

The latest four Airbus A321neo aircraft are scheduled to arrive with Uzbekistan Airways between 2027 and 2028. This step will bring the airline’s A321neo fleet to 15 units.

“The cooperation with CALC marks an important milestone in the modernization of Uzbekistan Airways. We are systematically renewing our fleet, implementing advanced technologies, and placing special emphasis on passenger comfort. The new Airbus A321neo aircraft combine efficiency, cutting-edge engineering, and superior passenger convenience — all of which align perfectly with our strategy for sustainable development and increased competitiveness in the international market,” said Shukhrat Khudaykulov, Chairman of the Board of Uzbekistan Airways.

Winnie Liu, President and CCO of CALC, added: “We are pleased to deepen our partnership with Uzbekistan Airways through this new agreement for four A321neo aircraft. These latest-generation aircraft reflect CALC’s commitment to supporting our airline partners with sustainable, flexible fleet solutions that enhance operational efficiency and passenger comfort. This transaction further strengthens CALC’s footprint in Central Asia, a market of growing importance within our global portfolio.”
