Travel Tuesday Takes Off With Unbeatable Flight Deals

Several airlines are soaring into Travel Tuesday with some of the best flight deals of the year. Following a record-breaking Thanksgiving travel period, the momentum is continuing as thousands look to finalize travel plans for 2026.

As the consumer frenzy known as Cyber Week comes to a close, some carriers are allowing travelers to take advantage of low fares through Wednesday. Frequent fliers can also find reward flights for much less than usual.

Ultra-Low-Cost Discounts

Despite its financial woes, Spirit Airlines is joining in on the Travel Tuesday craze with special deals. The ultra-low-cost carrier (ULCC) is offering as much as 60% off base fares. The offer is applicable to travel between December 9 and March 4, 2026, and the flights must be booked on Tuesday. Passengers must use the code 60PCT to receive the discount. It applies to flights only on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Saturdays.

It comes as the airline has been working to expand its route network. Late last month, Spirit launched a new route between Fort Lauderdale and Belize City. The carrier also recently added routes to Grand Cayman, Key West, and Savannah. Spirit also says it is “offering more premium seats this holiday season than ever before,” thanks to its first class and new premium economy seating.

“We know travelers are looking for major savings this Travel Tuesday so we’re doing what we do best and delivering exceptional value to our Guests,” said Rana Ghosh, Spirit’s Senior Vice President and Chief Commercial Officer at Spirit Airlines. “With 60 percent off base fares, travelers can splurge more at their destinations while enjoying the reliability and enhanced travel options Spirit offers.”

Seattle-based Alaska Airlines has put “hundreds of destinations on sale.” From shorter flights on the West Coast to transcontinental flights, the carrier is offering one-way deals starting under $30. MileagePlan members can also take advantage of discounted flights, starting at 4,000 miles. From Seattle to Walla Walla, Washington, the cheapest fare type, “Saver,” is $29. Other routes with the same price include San Diego to Sacramento, Seattle to Redding, and Portland to Eugene.

The Saver fare one-way from San Diego to Phoenix is $39, while a longer flight from San Diego to Maui or Los Angeles to Kona starts at $99. Even the coast-to-coast flight from San Diego to New York is offered for $10 more at $109. Restrictions apply to the deals. Additionally, travelers must book their flights before Wednesday at 11:59 PM EDT to take advantage of the discounted rates.

Also through Wednesday, JetBlue Airways is offering 35% off base fares. Passengers can use the promo code SAVE35 to take advantage of the discount on flights booked between January 6 and February 11. It also applies to flights between February 24 and March 11; however, Fridays and Sundays are excluded during the period. The promo code reportedly does not have a limit on how much it can be used.

oneworld partner Qantas is running a sale on flights through Wednesday. Some of its top offers include Los Angeles to Sydney starting at $834 roundtrip, or Los Angeles to Melbourne, which starts at $934 roundtrip. While most airlines’ discounts apply to flights at the end of 2025 or in 2026, Qantas’ sale is immediate. Its special deals are only applicable to flights on select routes through next Tuesday, December 9.

Another international carrier offering discounts on flights from the US is ITA Airways. According to the airline’s website, passengers can receive a 20% discount if they book flights by 11:59 PM EDT on Tuesday. It applies to flights to all destinations in Economy, Premium Economy, and Business Class. Travelers must use the discount code “TRAVEL” when booking.
