Transfer Capital One Miles To Qantas With 20% Bonus: Worth It?

The Capital One mileage program has just launched its newest transfer bonus, and it could represent a good value for some. It’s not one I’m terribly excited about, but others may feel differently.

Transfer Capital One miles to Qantas with 20% bonus

Between May 1 and May 31, 2026, the Capital One mileage program in the United States is offering a 20% bonus on points transfers to Qantas Frequent Flyer.

Ordinarily, Capital One miles convert into Qantas Frequent Flyer points at a 1:1 ratio, so with this bonus, you’d receive 1,200 Qantas points for every 1,000 Capital One miles transferred.

Is this Capital One to Qantas transfer bonus worth it?

Long story short, I think there’s potentially value to be had with this promotion, but only if you know what you’re doing. Qantas belongs to the oneworld alliance, and also has some other useful airline partners, like with Emirates, among other airlines.

Qantas’ pricing isn’t necessarily that attractive, and there are carrier imposed surcharges. However, with the devaluations we’ve seen at other programs, there are definitely some situations where it’s the best program.

For example, below is the Classic Flight Reward chart, for flights on Qantas, Fiji Airways, and American, among other airlines.

Meanwhile below is the award chart for flights on Emirates, which isn’t quite as appealing, as you can tell (though keep in mind Emirates first class awards are limited to elite members).

In some cases, you might find that this is actually among the better pricing that you’ll find, at least if you factor in transfer bonuses. In particular, this pricing is generally better than you’ll find directly through Emirates Skywards.

Redeem Qantas points for Emirates business class

So yeah, I absolutely wouldn’t speculatively transfer points, but with a specific use in mind, I think there could be value here.

Bottom line

Capital One is offering a 20% bonus on mileage transfers to Qantas Frequent Flyer. So with this bonus, you can receive 1,200 Qantas points for every 1,000 Capital One miles you transfer. This is more of a niche program, but with a specific use in mind, there’s a lot of value to be had. In particular, nowadays Qantas Frequent Flyer sometimes has better redemption rates for travel on Emirates than you’ll find with some other programs.

Do you plan on taking advantage of this Capital One to Qantas Frequent Flyer transfer bonus?
