Singapore Airlines Changi Terminal 2 Lounges Renovated & Expanded

In recent years, we’ve seen Singapore Airlines renovate all of its lounges at Singapore Changi Airport (SIN) Terminal 3, which is the carrier’s primary terminal. However, the airline also operates many flights out of Terminal 2, and up until recently, the lounge situation there was pretty underwhelming.

This spring, the airline began a full overhaul of its Terminal 2 lounges. There’s now an exciting update, as the first of these updated lounges has just opened, and the project will continue!

Singapore Airlines is currently transforming its SilverKris and KrisFlyer Gold lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 2, as part of a $45 million SGD ($34 million USD) investment.

Renovations started in April 2025, and will be complete around the middle of 2027. The renovations are happening in phases, to minimize customer inconvenience:

  • Construction on the new SilverKris First Class Lounge began in April 2025, and the lounge has now reopened as of November 2025, so the first phase of the project is complete
  • Construction on the new SilverKris Business Lounge is expected to begin very shortly (in November 2025), and is expected to take until some point in the spring of 2026
  • Construction on the new KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will begin in the first half of 2026, and will wrap up in 2027

Perhaps the most exciting development is that lounge capacity is increasing by roughly 50%. On top of that, lounges will feature upgraded facilities, signature elements from the carrier’s Terminal 3 lounges, and an improved variety of food and drinks.

Here’s how Yeoh Phee Teik, Singapore Airlines’ SVP of Customer Experience, describes these changes:

“This significant investment underscores Singapore Airlines’ unwavering commitment to elevating the end-to-end travel experience for our customers. Building on the success of our Terminal 3 lounges, we are extending our signature hospitality and thoughtfully curated offerings to Terminal 2. This upgrade reaffirms our continued dedication to providing a seamless, world-class experience that meets the high expectations of our discerning customers.”

What to expect from new Singapore Airlines Terminal 2 lounges

So, what can we expect from the three new lounges? The new SilverKris First Lounge has just opened, so we have our first “real” look at the updated design concept. The new lounge is 11,300 square feet, with seating for around 130 guests. The lounge features higher ceilings, along with floor-to-ceiling windows.

The renovated bar also offers more drink options, including barista service in the morning. Furthermore, the lounge has a live cooking station, with a variety of Singaporean, Asian, and Western choices, on top of a self-serve buffet, mirroring what’s available in Terminal 3. The lounge also boasts four semi-private resting pods (with bedding), plus a play area for kids.

Next up is the new SilverKris Business Lounge, which will be expanded by 30%, when it reopens. It will include a quiet rest area with recliners, and a redesigned living room area with diverse seating options, including wingback chairs, sofa seats, and productivity pods. The expanded self-service buffet will feature Asian and Western options, including a new full-service bar, serving barista coffee in the morning, and signature cocktails in the evening.

Lastly, the new KrisFlyer Gold Lounge will double in size. It will offer various seating options, such as armrests for lounging, workstations, and dining seats. New amenities will include in-lounge restrooms and shower suites.

If you want a sense of the general vibe the airline is going for, check out my reviews of the renovated Terminal 3 lounges, including the SilverKris First Lounge and SilverKris Business Lounge (I’ve also reviewed the Singapore Airlines Private Room, but there’s no equivalent to that in Terminal 2).

Bottom line

Singapore Airlines is investing in its lounges at Changi Airport Terminal 2, as the facilities are being progressively renovated and expanded through mid-2027. The updates follow the same blueprint as you’ll find in the carrier’s Terminal 3 lounges, which have also been updated in recent years.

The new SilverKris First Lounge is now open, and it looks like a great improvement over the old facility. Meanwhile the SilverKris Business Lounge is expected to get a makeover soon, followed by the KrisFlyer Gold Lounge. I’m really happy to see these changes, and look forward to seeing the finished product.

What do you make of Singapore Airlines’ Terminal 2 lounge updates?
