Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin Opening In World’s Swankiest Ski Town

Fast growing luxury hotel group Rosewood will soon be opening its newest ski resort, which is located in what I’d argue is the world’s highest end ski town.

Rosewood joins the Courchevel 1850 hotel scene

Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin will be opening in December 2025, and is now accepting reservations. The hotel will be located in the French Alps, set in the prime spot of Courchevel 1850 (with 1850 referring to the altitude, in meters).

The property features 51 guest rooms and suites, and offers ski-in ski-out access. On top of that, the property has a spa, an all-day dining concept with a terrace, a kids club, and a bar lounge and cigar room. The property also claims to have the highest suite inventory in Courchevel’s Le Jardin Alpin.

This property is opening in the form of the conversion of a previous property, with a transformation being led by French designer Tristan Auer. The intent is to offer a new vision of contemporary alpine luxury, blending the grandeur of the French Alps with Rosewood’s design philosophy.

Here’s how Radha Arora, Rosewood’s President, describes this:

“Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin represents a defining milestone for the brand as our inaugural venture into alpine hospitality, situated in one of the world’s most revered ski destinations. This opening affirms Rosewood’s position at the vanguard of destination-led hospitality, offering our guests an opportunity for discovery in the most coveted address of Le Jardin Alpin.”

This is Rosewood’s first property in the French Alps, and second property in continental France, after Hôtel de Crillon Paris, a Rosewood Hotel.

As of now, pictures of the new Rosewood are super limited, though hopefully more pictures are made available as the opening date approaches. For that matter, other details about the property are limited as well.

Rosewood Courchevel rates & how to book

Courchevel is a seasonal destination, and the Rosewood will be open from the middle of December through early April each year.

I don’t want to bury the lede — Courchevel is flipping expensive, but the hotels do offer an absolutely incredible experience. This isn’t like paying a huge amount to be in a resort factory where you feel like you’re just a number. Instead, Courchevel properties charge top dollar, but also provide top notch service and inclusions.

Rates at the Rosewood Courchevel currently range from €2,300 to €2,900 per night for a base room. You’re not really going to find any discounts beyond that, and at many Courchevel properties, you’re lucky to even find availability, as they often have a waitlist.

Rosewood Courchevel rates

You’re best off booking Rosewood properties through a Rosewood Elite travel advisor, as that’s typically going to be the best deal. This won’t cost you anything extra, and a Rosewood Elite agent will be able to add extra perks for your stay. What value can a Rosewood Elite travel advisor add?

  • Daily breakfast for up to two people per bedroom
  • Complimentary one-category room upgrade upon arrival (based on availability)
  • A welcome amenity and note
  • Additional property specific elite enhanced amenities, which vary by property; these may include a $100 credit per stay

A couple of further things to note:

  • Rosewood Elite perks can be combined with whatever promotion Rosewood is offering on its website directly, including the opening offer
  • Booking through Rosewood Elite is better than booking through Amex Fine Hotels + Resorts®, because upgrades are prioritized through Rosewood’s own proprietary program

Courchevel’s hotel scene is simply next-level

While I’d argue that more hotel inventory in Courchevel is a good thing, Rosewood faces some really stiff competition.

I’d argue that Courchevel’s best hotel is Les Airelles Courchevel, which is my favorite ski property in the world (and perhaps one of my favorite hotels, period — Airelles is such an amazing hotel brand). One of the nice things about Les Airelles is that you can get a half board or full board rate, and that comes with the ability to dine at many of the town’s best restaurants.

Les Airelles Courchevel is an incredible hotel

Even beyond that, though, you have Cheval Blanc Courchevel, L’Apogée Courchevel (part of Oetker Collection), Aman Le Mélézin Courchevel, Le K2 Palace Courchevel, etc. For a points angle, there’a also Six Senses Courchevel, but it only has residences, so it’s not a “proper” hotel.

You won’t find such a high concentration of uber luxury hotels anywhere else in the world. And again, I realize these properties are really expensive, but they truly deliver an astonishingly good guest experience.

Courchevel has great skiing

Bottom line

Rosewood Courchevel Le Jardin Alpin is opening in December 2025, as the conversion of a previous property. This will be Rosewood’s first resort in the French Alps, and second property in continental France. While I trust this hotel will be pretty amazing, Courchevel has an unbelievably good hotel scene, and it’ll be tough to surpass what’s already available in the market.

What do you make of Rosewood coming to Courchevel?
