Minor Hotels Takes Over Sharjah’s Retreat Portfolio In Push for International Visitors

Minor Hotels will take over management and operations of Sharjah Collection, the Sharjah Investment and Development Authority’s (Shurooq) portfolio of seven nature and heritage retreats, under a new partnership agreement announced this week. 

The properties — Al Badayer, Al Faya, Kingfisher, Moon, Najd Al Meqsar, Al Rayaheen, and Nomad — span desert, coastal, mountain, and heritage sites across the emirate and hold just over 150 rooms combined.

Ahmed Obaid Al Qaseer, Shurooq’s CEO, told Skift the developer’s entire hotel portfolio, which comprises other hotels like Chedi Al Bait in Sharjah, has fewer than 200 rooms. The rationale for bringing in Minor now, according to Al Qaseer, is that the first phase of Sharjah Collection’s growth — built on domestic and regional demand — has reached its ceiling.
