JetBlue plans to launch nonstop service between Fort Lauderdale, Florida, and Caracas, Venezuela, marking the carrier’s first route to the country.
The airline announced on May 28, 2026, that it intends to begin flights between Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL) and Simón Bolívar International Airport (CCS) in Maiquetía before the end of 2026.
JetBlue said the route remains subject to government approval and the completion of other needed steps to operate in Venezuela.
Tickets are expected to go on sale in the coming months.
The airline plans to operate the route with Airbus A320 aircraft.
“Fort Lauderdale continues to serve as JetBlue’s gateway to the Caribbean and Latin America, and we believe there is meaningful opportunity to expand our presence in the region with planned service to Caracas,” said Dave Jehn, Vice President, Network Planning and Airline Partnerships at JetBlue. “South Florida is home to a large Venezuelan community, and this new route would help connect families and loved ones with JetBlue’s competitive fares and award-winning service.”
JetBlue said the route is aimed at demand from customers traveling to visit friends and relatives, particularly within South Florida’s Venezuelan community. The airline also said Caracas passengers would be able to connect across JetBlue’s wider network through Fort Lauderdale.
The planned Caracas route would add to JetBlue’s recent expansion at Fort Lauderdale,. JetBlue said it expects to operate nearly 130 daily departures from the airport this summer after recently announcing its largest-ever Fort Lauderdale schedule.
That schedule includes 11 new destinations and additional flights on existing routes across the US, Latin America and the Caribbean.
JetBlue said its Airbus A320 service to Caracas will include free Fly-Fi internet, seatback entertainment, and complimentary snacks and drinks.
JetBlue would join American Airlines as a US carrier operating service to Venezuela, with United also set to return later in 2026.
